Sean just announced...
I will listen to Rep. Darrell Issa (R- 49th District, CA)
See this Drudge Report : CONGRESSMAN WARNS RAHM : THIS ISN'T CHICAGO
Please post some of the action and thanks.
“Jihad Darrell”?
Who said 9/11 “was just a plane crash”?
And wept over islamic terrorists and their leader?
Not that Barry and co. aren’t anything more than sleazy Chicago politicians.
Your comments on Issa are BS
The blogger who smeared him is the same one
who also smeared Sarah Palin.
They’re not true?
Well, here’s the NY Daily News saying Issa said 9/11 attacks were “simply a plane crash”. Yes, linked from her blog but she didn’t write the article.
GOP Rep. Darrell Issa under fire from everywhere after 9/11 comments
WASHINGTON - The California congressman who called the Sept. 11 attacks “simply” a plane crash ran for cover Wednesday under a barrage of ridicule from fellow Republicans, first responders and victims’ families.
The NY Times said Issa and 2 others met with Arafat despite Bush’s boycott of the terrorist.
The “food” statements aren’t here so I don’t know where DS got them.

Don’t agree with the Arafat meeting but meeting with him doesot mean he backed him.
If his views were just a plane crash, he would have long been voted out especially with Camp Pendelton in NW San Diego with tens of thousands of Marines in his general dist.
There are huge numbers on FR who have that view and worse.
The 9/11 Truthers Really sick people.
So you’re saying Issa didn’t really say what the NY Times said he did?
I don’t know this guy but he was quoted in the article:
“New York was attacked by Al Qaeda. It doesn’t have to be attacked by Congress,” added Long Island Rep. Pete King, a Republican.
“I’m really surprised by Darrell Issa,” King added. “It showed such a cavalier dismissal of what happened to New York. It’s wrong and inexcusable.”
Issa is one of our 5 congressmen here in San Diego.
The anti war, 9/11 Truthers on FR don’t like Issa and the other Conservative Republicans in congress, especially those who have served in the Military as Issa did.
Interesting. Well I noticed that one Republican took him to task on it, so I’m rather inclined to believe he said it.
9/11 Truthers vs. Issa? I’m kinda scratching my head on that one. There are still folks on FR that think Bush wired the World Trade Center?
Thought they all left with Michael Rivero.
Have a question about your reaction to Issa taking on Rahm Emmanuel...
Issa could be or not be guilty of getting 9-11 wrong, I don’t know.
But he isn’t wrong on every action and statement he makes, is he?
Of course he isn’t.
Why make him the issue on this thread? What purpose does that serve?
Rahm Emmanuel is the issue and by extension, Obama.
He made the statement. He should take responsibility for it.
Pretending he didn’t make it is wrong. My original statement regarding the 9/11 statement was accurate.
I don’t care if he takes on Rahm. Good.
But we have a lot of funny politics going on.
And 9/11 is not a joking matter. Nor was it “simply a plane crash”.
I think that Congressman Issa made the wrong choice of words when he pointed out, as one of his explanations for his opposition to the huge federal payments going to NYC after the September 11 attacks, that the attacks did not involve chemical weapons or things normally under federal responsibility, and that New York State should pay a larger share of the rebuilding.
I think that Issa had a point that the federal payments to NYC were larger than they should have been—remember, NY politicians asked for and got money for all sorts of things only tangentially connected to the terrorist attacks—but obviously it was idiotic to try to draw a distinction between terorist attacks with planes full of fuel and terrorist attacks with chemical weapons. While Issa’s statement was stupid, I think it’s unfair to characterize Issa as treating September 11 as a “joking matter,” and Issa proved how seriously he took the terorist attacks by being a steadfast vote in favor of what President Bush dubbed the “War on Terror” but more correctly should be called the “War on Islamofascism.”
It wasn’t a declaration of war on New York State. It was a declaration of war on America. New York State shouldn’t have had to bear more burden and no, I’m not from there.
Two airliners hijacked and destroyed and two 110-story buildings knocked down, along with several other buildings surrounding them.
Of course the lion’s share of the money is going to go there; the Pentagon next and then the recovery of what little there was of Flight 93.
You are spot on!
I too most often use the term Islamofascism
as that best describes the issue.
Issa, being in San Diego Co. has the largest concentration of Military. He is also a Vietnam War Vet.
He more than understands what and why we are fighting.
Thanks... I hardly paid attention to the diversion.
Oddly enough, I know Darryl Issa personally. We were neighbors in Vista and I had done some landscaping/irrigation work at his home numerous times. I think he’s a very good guy and has a great family. He is also very much responsible for having Governor Grey Davis recalled. I also have a friend, a liberal, that used to work for him many years ago. My friend couldn’t stand him at all. That was enough endorsement for me!
