ST. AMANT -- After a disastrous speech to the country in February, followed by a spring lawmaking session dominated by budget battles, Gov. Bobby Jindal in recent weeks has resumed the peripatetic campaign-style pace that has been a source of both political strength and fodder for his harshest critics.
A 64-parish, statewide "working tour" across Louisiana featuring campaign-like speeches and check-signing ceremonies is reintroducing Jindal to home-state voters who, according to a recent poll, have grown less enamored with the man they elected in 2007 and are wary of his apparent national ambitions.
The tour also comes as Jindal is re-emerging as a national figure with a series of appearances on national TV news shows and high-profile newspaper op-eds, a book deal and resumption of the frequent out-of-state fund-raising trips that were curtailed for three months by a state law that bars such acts during a legislative session.
If Jindal is serving two masters -- voters at home, and national Republicans eager for new leaders -- it was on vivid display at a recent event that found him in a high school auditorium in a rural part of Ascension Parish. About 150 or people had braved intermittent thunderstorms to hear the governor deliver a 45-minute monologue on economic development, government ethics and patriotism.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think the author is a Jindal fan.
NOLA.com and the Toilet Piccayune isn't a Jindal fan. New Orleans is mostly a liberal activist cesspool. Hurricanes in the past washed most of them away, but they keep coming back to their dear leader, Nagin.
The press always feels the need to backhand Governor Jindahl with a reminder of this speech in February. In CONTENT, it was an excellent speech.
Just because he didn’t come off like a wanna-be rockstar, like some President we know, doesn’t mean that this man is not in play.
I see him very much as a contender in the future, if not President, certainly a Cabinet level position. I like Bobby Jindahl, wish I could tolerate the heat and humidity of La. He’s done a lot since taking over office from that zero, Blanco.
Is this a news report or an editorial? Who is this writer to judge what a “disastrous” speech is? Many analysts said Jindal’s speech was less than dynamic and not well delivered. But to just declare it a disaster is going way too far.
The media in this country sets the narrative, they decided his speech was a disaster before he even gave it. If something is repeated enough it just becomes true to certain people.
When a guy like Geraldo says he WANTS Huckabee to be the next GOP nominee that should tell us right away we don't want him.

Agreed. I like Jindal.
I don’t think Gov. Jindel will run for President in 2012, however, he will be the top Vice-Presidental pick because of his success as Governor and his conservative principles. I see a Palin/Jindel ticket in 2012 and I really like that. I agree with the assessment on Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. Mitt Romney’s greatest achilles heel is that he signed into law the Massachusetts Healthcare Program and alot of Mike Huckabee’s support were conservatives against John McCain in last years primaries.
“Maybe Im wrong, but I dont think the author is a Jindal fan.”
Maybe the author wants someone who can entertain, rather than get things accomplished.
Jindal needs to learn how to sing and dance and tell jokes, I guess.
