Americas: Venezuela's Hugo Chavez has been caught arming Colombia's FARC again. It's more than state sponsorship of terror. The persistence of his acts signals a proxy war against the U.S. It's time to recognize that.
It's an eye-opener, given that a month earlier, President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had "turned the page" with Venezuela's strongman, laughing, shaking hands and backslapping with him as Chavez declared: "I want to be your friend."
Chavez's phony smile concealed many ugly secrets, directed against U.S. interests in Colombia, beneath the surface.
The Venezuelan has been supporting terrorists for years, but gets away with it, most likely because he wears a democratic mask. Every time he's caught, U.S. and multilateral organizations decline to sanction him. As revelations keep coming, what's it going to take?
In December 2005, Chavez was caught giving FARC leader Rodrigo Granda a Venezuelan passport, asylum and speaking honors at a conference in Caracas before bounty hunters returned him to Colombia. Instead of being declared a state sponsor of terror or getting sanctioned by the U.S. and Colombia, Chavez diverted attention by making the issue about bounty hunters at a summit with Colombia.

Unfortunately there is a big time Hugo supporter in the White House. I’m afraid there are rough times ahead.
I remember back in the early fall. When the Columbians captured that FARC laptop. It was full of Hugo’s financial and material support for them. It also detailed Nancy Pelosi and Congressman McGovern reassuring Hugo, that he should hang in there until Obama was elected. They said he would end free trade for Columbia, and therefore, strengthen FARC, allowing the socialist revolution to spread to Columbia.
On March 25, 2008 an editorial appeared in the Wall Street Journal, discussing McGovern’s opposition to the U.S.-Colombian Free Trade Agreement and his connections to an intermediary to the FARC rebels in Colombia. The editorial accused McGovern of making “an ardent effort to do business directly with the FARC.
***Hugo is utterly in cooperation with DNC policy****
This article makes it sound like Ubama/Hillary are being treated disrespectfully by Hugo. NOTHING could be further from the case.
“Chavez’s phony smile concealed many ugly secrets, directed against U.S. interests in Colombia”
IT DID NOT! Hillary, Pelosi, and Obama were all “in” on the secret. His smile for them was not phony. The only thing concealed is that the democrat party is 100% in league with the speading of Marxist revolution in Central America. The only ugly secret concealed is that the Hugo is doing the work of the DNC, and the DNC is acting like they oppose Hugo.
When you get that, then their positions on Zelaya, admitting Cuba to the OAS, Tolerance for Ortegas hour long anti-US rant with Obama in the audience, all make sense.
The photo of Ubama and Hugo, both smirking at each other says it all. Both are Damned communists.
“I’m afraid we are going to have to face the fact that we are going to have to do something about this guy”
You mean about Obama? It’s poinless for us to identify enemies of “Classic America” when Obama is in conspiracy with them. We identify people Reagan would oppose, but so what, if their biggest champion is in the White House?
Obama is the most deadly enemy America has,,,by far.
It is only a matter of time before Russian/Soviet and Chinese missiles appear in Venezuela and Cuba, pointed directly at the US. And, Obama will NOT do anything about it.
Good point. I had wanted to include that in the editorial, too, but did not have room. The reports I’m hearing are that Russian weapons have seeped out into FARC encampments. The Russians have been notified, and reportedly are not happy. But it’s hard to think they couldn’t have found this all that big a surprise.
