Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, rushed to deny stories of marital strife today after bloggers ignited an Internet firestorm over divorce rumors.
Two Alaska bloggers posted items attributed to unnamed sources that the couple would divorce.

Now that Sarah is a private citizen and NOT in a political office she can sue for slander some of these moe rons...
This does not really constitute slander but it is beyond silly and these bloggers obviously have too much time on their hands. I wish Palin would stop answering all of their silliness. Sometimes silence says more than any words could.
She should sue for defamation of character, any network that continues to spread this lie should be sued as well

This all got started when it was commented on that neither of them were wearing their wedding rings during public appearances. The reason, of course, is because shaking countless hands while wearing rings can be very painful.

Sarah Palin would not be seeking a divorce. Is Todd also a born again Christian? If so, I doubt he would be seeking one, either.I don’t know anything much about Todd Palin, though his uncle was a friend and colleague of mine.many years ago.Integrity runs deep in that family.
What is really silly is that this makes the national ‘news media’ from the ‘bloggers’. I see no harm that Sarah respond.

I was listening to PJTV today with ZO, you all know him, he is AWESOME by the way, he said these leftists bastards have NO soul and won’t stop til she puts a gun in her mouth and pulls the trigger. Great point and the Sarah camp does need to heed this advice DallasSun. But in this case I feel that it is a perfect opportunity to support the “....ya stop makin’ things up” quote from her speech. Btw Dalla is one of the friendliest cities I have ever visited.
And I see posters here saying that it’s in poor taste to talk up the Won’s Kenyon Birth! I really hate to see posts telling posters here that it is unseemly to throw feces at your political opponents. You never know what might stick.

I do agree with you re: the “stop making things up”. And while I do love Dallas, I live in San Antonio which I do sincerely believe is the jewel of Texas.

Because some rumors are just DISGUSTING and AWFUL and should never be repeated. Sarah had to say something. Some rumors you can just let go of, like the rumor about her moving to Montana or the Hamptons or Chicago, but this, this is something else, this is hurting HER, hurting her family. I am glad she spoke out, and also because it was spreading like wildfire. Some stupid media outlet in PA already reported the lie, so of course she had to say something. That is her family, nothing matters more to her then her family
Spreading a known false comment for the purpose of harming someone is slander. "To charge falsely or with malicious intent; attack the good name and reputation of someone". Looks and smells like slander to me. Silence is acquiescence.
I don’t think it is that silly. The left has learned a new tactic that is based on their control of the MSM. Just keep on attacking, without any basis or merit, just make stuff up that the MSM and the leftist blogosphere will spread, which will have to be answered to retain credibility. Do it to any rising star of the opposition. It may eventually backfire. Let us hope so.

It is easy for me to say there are times I wish Sarah would not dignify some of these rumours with a comment, knowing me, I would probably do the same as Sarah is doing.
