Lamar has been in DC too long. He needs to be replaced by a true conservative. In fact the same applies to Corker. Neither are worth much.

Anyone voting for this racist, poorly vetted wide Latina should be shut off from any support from the party they are SUPPOSED to be representing.

Besides Lindsey Graham-nesty and Lamar, who are others besides Snowe and Collins, presuming these two raging liberals will be reliable votes as usual.

Yes, indeed. I have always thought Lamar was probably a RINO. Voting for Soto “La Raza” mayor confirms it with an exclamation point

Traitors. Anyone, regardless of party, who supports this racist and seriously flawed appointee needs to be out of office post-haste. She easily represents the most radical, and least appropriate candidate for the SCOTUS we have seen in any of our lifetimes, maybe in history.

Who are these "Republican" senators trying to appease? What back-room deal was cut to get their vote? Who has dirt on them? Or are they just plain liberals that don't belong in the party in the first place?

I think we need some shirts made up with a design similar to this:

Because the obvious truth is - Communists have infiltrated every corner of this country - all the way to the White House (and obviously, the Senate chambers).

Lamar should just quote Obama when Barry was saying how Roberts was totally qualified for the SCOTUS, but he still voted against him on political/ideological grounds.

Stop playing so NICE or we’re all doomed!

Donate to individual candidates and not to the Party, but 5 out of 40 voting for this woman is not a lot to take out the GOP in total. Half the Dems voted for Roberts. Our Minority Leader is voting against her along with 34 other Republicans which is a pretty good percentage since truthfully he could have put up someone much, much worse and we could not stop them.

This nomination is replacing Souter who always voted against Conservatives but she also is not a leader. Think she will drive Kennedy to vote with the Conservatives almost all the time now. He has gone more conservative the longer he has been on the Court.

Party? What happened to "the people" they represent?

Nothing personal but this allegiance to "Political Party" will be the death of the Republic, as fore told by our first President upon his leaving office many years ago.

The point of my post; shut off funds from the party that is helping fund them. You make a good point, but one that has nothing to do with mine.

Ginsberg has pancreatic cancer. She's the next to step down. Obama will have Two ultra leftists and they are young and healthy. The court is changed with EVERY appointment and these changes tend to last for decades. This is not a horse trading thing. Each appointment has very long term consequences...

That's the point. They are one vote away from creating a super legislature that doesn't depend on Blue Dogs. Obama may be able to appoint three justices in his first term. One would think that the brain dead GOP would fight for EACH SEAT?????

The American Experiment has failed. This joke of a national government has enrages conservatives and liberals alike. We don;t want to live with each other and this constant political battling is killing us as a productive nation. Nobody is focused on business anymore. Its a daily war of words and ideas and we are all losing.

It is time to dissolve the federal government and return to strong state governance. Let the liberals have their states and then let the conservatives have theirs. We cannot live together and a civil war only hurts everyone.

It didn't work, so give it up and lets get on with building our lives the way we see fit. In separate jurisdictions.

Let me rephrase. There are 9 justices onthe court. Five tend conservative and five are clearly liberal. Souter turned out to be a liberal so Sotomayor replaces him. But she is FAR MORE LIBERAL and will not drift from her affirmative action ideology. Obama will likely replace Ginsberg next. She too is liberal. But, the GOP didn't fight Sotomayor and Obama is now emboldened. So... he will nominate another extremely liberal justice. The GOP will, again fold. That's two extremely liberal justices. The justices decide cases and either join the majority, dissent or concur. That's like a vote. So... the more young ultra liberals you can pack on the court, the safer the liberal agenda when the GOP accidentally gets itself into the White House again (they have no plan or platform). Then, when the dumb GOP POTUS nominates a moderate, the leftist establishment trashed the nomination, embarrasses the POTUS and another moderate (left leaning) judge survives the Democrat onslaught in the Senate and tilts the court even further left.

Why an I typing all of this? If the GOP hasn't figured it out by now, they, in fact, are brain dead... READ BORK....

The voters need to get off their fat lazy butts, get informed and vote. See wasn’t that easy?! No political party should be running this country, we should. They’re only the ones that represent our interests and we tell them what we want done. In fact all too many voters are paralyzed by defeat (of the mind) or are happy for the govt to steal from their neighbor. If we want govt to change we need to look to ourselves first. If they’re corrupt then we were corrupt first.

Corker is “disappointed” he wont be voting for her...

Typical CINO/RINO junk...

Corker Announces His Intentions on the Sotomayor Nomination

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn., made the following statement today regarding the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor for the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Judge Sotomayor has an impressive background and an inspiring American story. I enjoyed meeting with her in June and let her know I would reserve judgment on her nomination until the conclusion of a fair and thorough hearings process,” said Corker. “After much deliberation and careful review, I have determined that Judge Sotomayor’s record and many of her past statements reflect a view of the Supreme Court that is different from my own. I view the Supreme Court as a body charged with impartially deciding what the law means as it is applied to a specific case. I believe Judge Sotomayor views the Supreme Court as more of a policy-making body where laws are shaped based on the personal views of the justices. Unfortunately, nothing I heard during Judge Sotomayor’s confirmation hearings or in my meeting with her in June sufficiently allayed this concern. For this reason, I’m disappointed to say, I will not be able to support Judge Sotomayor’s nomination.”

There is a fatal lack of spines in the Republican ranks.

From a perfectly technical point of view you are right. However, life if rarely perfect.

As I see it, the political process may be too far corrupted to ever set it right without revolution. Our country was born of revolution and may need to be reborn of revolution.

Some 47% of voters did not vote for The Marxist Onada. So that is a start. But history teaches us only about 21% of the colonial population actively participated in the War for Independence. Even with the issues as clear was they were then, the majority simply sat it out. I suspect a similarly large percent of the American population will do likewise.

There is nothing in our Constitution that precludes another revolution. Moreover, some of the Founding Father’s were prescient enough to understand the potential necessity of another revolution. They even wrote about it.
