A Gaza man is being held on suspicion he bludgeoned his daughter with an iron chain, cracking her skull in a particularly brutal family "honor killing," two human rights groups said Wednesday, citing police and forensics reports.

The groups' reports said that the assault was triggered by Jawdat Najjar's discovery that his daughter Fadia - a 27-year-old divorced mother of five - owned a cell phone. He suspected she used it to speak to a man outside the family, according to the groups' reports.

Yep. Here's what I don't get about Islam: What's in it for women? They are treated so badly, that one would think they'd hate it. I understand that many might not be educated about any plausible alternative, but you'd think they'd resent their treatment. But, there are women suicide bombers driven by the threat of dishonor; ululating Palestinians; burqa wearing immigrants at our motor vehicle registries. I just don't get it.

Which is essentially you trying to impose your idea of a perfect world on others then. Tyranny is tyranny, no matter what coat it wears. It's not the property of the religious. Have you ever spent time in Turkey. Islamics and Christians live side by side. Long story short. It is a capital crime to try and convert anyone to any other religion. If they want it they have to walk into the place of worship and ask for information. Trying to convert a friend is a stand you up in front of a wall and drop a hammer on you crime. No door knockers in that neighborhood of the world. It is about the only area of this earth outside of the western culture where muslims and christians aren't killing each other on a regular basis. It still happens but those that are caught are executed quickly. I don't care what a persons religion is. I don't care if they don't believe as I do or even if they have no faith at all. You are entitled to your religion, your faith, just don't push it in my face. I am entitled not to have to listen to it and I will push back.
