Gen. Colin Powell responds to criticism from Rush Limbaugh in a recent interview.
"I can handle his criticism," he says, "but... he says things I consider to be completely outrageous" and wishes other members of the Republican party would responds to them like he does.
Larry King suggests the GOP is "afraid" to take him on.
Powell says he responds to Rush because, "I don't have to worry about winning elections."

Unless Powell lists the specific items that Rush has said that he disagrees with, and rebuts them point by point, this remains useless ad-hominem horse-squeeze.
Folks here point to Powell’s endorsement of Obama, which Rush astutely pointed out had to have been based entirely on race (since Powell had not previously endorsed extremely liberal, extremely inexperienced white candidates). Was that one of Limbaugh’s outrageous statements, Mr. Powell? Then prove it: tell us what extremely liberal, extremely inexperienced white candidates you have publicly endorsed. Put up or shut up, you son of a bitch.
But I actually take issue that it was his endorsement of Obama which certified Powell as an odious slimebucket. Evidence of his low character actually crystallized quite a while earlier, when it became public that he’d known who committed the non-crime of leaking Valerie Plame’s name to the media (Armitage) yet kept silent while Scooter Libby was brutalized and destroyed by an out-of-control prosecutor.
Powell is lower than whaleshit for that. He was lower than whaleshit long before his Obama endorsement. The endorsement was just the cherry on top of the whaleshit parfait that is Powell’s legacy of low character, untrustworthiness, poor judgment, ingratitude and race hucksterism.

Hey Colin, why don't you tell us why you chose to remain silent, even while President Bush and his staff were under relentless attack, and under a soul sapping investigationb, for allegedly leaking this supposed CIA agent Plame’s name to the press, knowing full well that your close pal Armitage , was the real leaker.

As for his current efforts, I think it is a cheap game using a political capital that is based upon a false media image and the mechanism of political affirmative action. Powell is using this political capital to get something. It may be money. We know he has a knack for accumulating a monetary wealth ($27 million in 2001) from his speaking tours. Perhaps that wealth has evaporated with the economy.
Now he is playing his chips. He knows that if he switches parties it will be a huge black eye for the Republican Party. However any overt threat to do so is a form of blackmail. So, instead he is lobbing shots at those who are the best spokesman for the Republican Party. This will give him publicity which will put him back on the speaking tour that has made him millions before.
I think it’s the great manipulator Powell trying to make money.

The only thing outrageous is the fact that Powell has the audacity to claim he’s a Republican and someone who went against a left-leaning turd like McCain with endorsing 0bama and thinks anyone takes him seriously anymore.
