SHARONVILLE, Ohio — Police say a woman rented a handgun at an Ohio indoor shooting range, got some instructions on how to use it and then fatally shot herself.

Police in the Cincinnati suburb of Sharonville say they believe Ann Fukuyama committed suicide Sunday at Target World, a public range that sells and rents guns and has a dozen 25-yard target shooting lanes. They say the 46-year-old Cincinnati resident died at a local hospital.

I'll bet she doesn't do that again.

Would the press feel better if she jumped out of a window?

Of course the press would feel better if she’d jumped out a window. Guns are horrible scary things. Windows are nice.

Oh the anti-guns are gonna have a field day with this. Wonder how the euthenasia types will weigh in.

First there were several of these in Florida and now Ohio. Sometimes these things are purely copycat. However, As an investigator, I’d be curious to know what commonalities may have existed among psychiatrists and drugs.

I’ve used this range and have purchased several firearms from Target World. This is the second suicide since they opened however you cannot blame the operator.

Many ranges are now implementing a policy that if you don’t bring your own gun you must be with another person. The thought is that you won’t take your life if someone else is with you or they would prevent you from doing so.

It’s sad and the cleanup in aisle 4 eats into range time.

This happened at an indoor range here in Tx. about a year ago. Older gent’s family had put him in a rest home, he was wheelchair bound, had been a regular at the range for quite some time,Didn’t like the rest home, got a cab to take him to the range, rented a pistol, rolled himself back into the range and killed himself.

My wife and I got our CCW there as well!

She was a better shot than me. Slightly embarassing...

I'm going to just copy and paste your reply it is EXACTLY my situation.

My wife and I got ours in June of 2006 and our instructor was Keith. He let us shoot his .50 cal pistol.

And..........my wife is a better shot than I am too!

I had to go out and buy a Remington 870 12 ga. tactical shotgun so I wouldn't feel inferior.

We took ours about the same time as you but I forget the instructor’s name. Russ?

I was shooting a .45 and she a 9mm. I should have opted for the smaller caliber when qualifying.

I’d love to have a tactical 870! I have a straight 870 now...

I carry a 40 Glock, model 22 and my wife carries a S&W 357 (she shoots .38’s out of it).

I really should have settled on a 45, my son has access to unlimited amounts of 45 ammo.

I use a Glock 36 .45 ACP but should have went with a smaller 9mm because it gets uncomfortable even for a CC weapon.

Do you carry often? I rarely do...

In the case of the 40 you have the 23 and 27 as smaller versions and I've been thinking hard about the 27.

I had a 9MM, but my son would make fun of it. He carries a 45 and my wife and I gave him two because we're “great parents”. A Glock 21 and an H&K model 23 Socom. The H&K is a real beaut!

I carry a Glock 36 .45 or S&W 9mm.

My wife carries a Kahr PM9 9mm.

If I had to do it over again I'd go with a .40 or 9mm.

The 36 was designed for CC but is still a chunk to carry around...
