"The Post-American World" (BO Book Selection)
fareed zakaria ^ | fareed zakaria

Posted on 07/25/2009 7:48:08 PM PDT by jessduntno

In The New York Times bestseller, The Post-American World, Fareed Zakaria argues that the "rise of the rest" is the great story of our time.

Now available in paperback with an all-new preface. "This is not a book about the decline of America, but rather about the rise of everyone else."

So begins Fareed Zakaria's important new work on the era we are now entering. Following on the success of his best-selling The Future of Freedom, Zakaria describes with equal prescience a world in which the United States will no longer dominate the global economy, orchestrate geopolitics, or overwhelm cultures.

He sees the "rise of the rest"—the growth of countries like China, India, Brazil, Russia, and many others—as the great story of our time, and one that will reshape the world. The tallest buildings, biggest dams, largest-selling movies, and most advanced cell phones are all being built outside the United States.

This economic growth is producing political confidence, national pride, and potentially international problems. How should the United States understand and thrive in this rapidly changing international climate? What does it mean to live in a truly global era? Zakaria answers these questions with his customary lucidity, insight, and imagination.

Precisely. Sure possibly there will be others out there who may be able to catch up. There are areas largely underdeveloped for many reason. Socio political order. A lot of these places ARE catching up because of US interests and economy.

The US of A was the leader ad will be the leader until mismanagement by a leader destroys it.

The author is rabidly anti US? Try another mans observation

I could only wish to transport these loons to a post-America world. Only folks as dim-witted as they would expect improvement.

I still can not believe anybody voted for him. Although McLame certainly helped. How could ther be a worse candidate...my friends. He reminded me of a mean old penguin wadling around the stage. Hand picked by the MSM and RINO’s

“The Post-American World” (BO Book Selection)
fareed zakaria ^ | fareed zakaria”

Of, by and for zakaria...

Then zakaria writes about zakaria: “Zakaria answers these questions with his customary lucidity, insight, and imagination.”

But can zakaria screw in a lightbulb? The question isn’t answered.

Can 10 blindfolded monkeys, pecking on 10 typewriters in the dark, write a better book than zakaria?

Yes we can!!

Before editing, here’s zakaria’s lead paragraph on chapter 1:

I tink.....er.....like.....you know.....that the cow jumped o’er da mooooooooooooooooon, butt she did, like, you know, ukdfkuyftgiul, blah, blah..I fathermore tink, you know, dat i hvfkjgho, like, gaaaaaaaaaa!!!

zakaria sat back and looked at the words he wrote with a magic marker on the computer screen and knew the editor would interepret the words he wrote..

Eureka!! he shouted and stuffed the screen into a ragged cardboard Tide laundry box and mailed it off to his editors at the New York Times.

Wikipedia tells us that this gentleman was born in Mumbai, India to a muslim family. Sometimes one might despair and it does not do to let men like this dampen down one's spirit.

He got everything out of America as a naturalized citizen. A fair amount of wealth, high positions and so on. Ten times the advantages of Joe Six Pack out there. The twisted perversity of all.

Just damn.

My previous post was done in rather a hasty fashion. I chided myself for getting just a little down on what I thought this man represents. I did some frantic research and came up with a mixed bag. Short of hoping the local library gets his book, I do not have much to back up what I wrote.

Still, what he does represent is something that is disturbing. His is a brand of "International Multi-culturalism". If one thinks this will lead America into the 21st century, all well and good. If one thinks these ideas are to destroy American sovereignty and eventually will see it changed for the worse, he is the enemy. I saw one quote by him and I will try to be accurate.

America is beset by fear of terrorism and of Mexicans and Muslims.

He has come to assimilate his culture into this land. He will not be assimilated.

As a muslim, Zakaria always sides with anti-Christian me-me’s.
And United States being a predominently Christian country Zakaria tries to minimize it’s status in the world.

My post #16.

I owe it to myself to give a more accurate quote of Mr Zakaria. I had a hard time back checking. I am indebted to a Mr Simon's blog. Here is the quote of Mr Zakaria:

"We have become a nation consumed by fear, worried about terrorists and rogue nations, Muslims and Mexicans.

I let that stand for what it is.
