"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

--  President Ronald Reagan

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

--  President Ronald Reagan

You prove my point.

If your memory and perceptions were a little sharper, you would remember and distinguish between “promoting” and “defending against excessive criticism.”

Had no idea you were active in that famous thread back in the spring of 2007. Some of my least favorite Freeper Rino’s were hurled out of here. I forget how many posts that monster had. Henceforth I propose we call these Mittsters by the name, "Rombots" and their hero "Mittsy."

What is it now, almost three years of your non stop Romney nonsense?

We've got slim pickins on our side. Nobody outstanding. Nobody that represents Conservatives.

Who would you rather have, Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee? It's going to come down to the lesser of two evils. You just know that Mike Huckabee is spoilin' to be a spoiler again!

Huckabee or Romney?

That’s easy. Huckabee played at the FR Inauguration ball.
Romney usurped a Constitution to impose gay marriage
on HIS whim, and imposed socialized medicine to cover
up his financial ‘rape’ of several companies after HE
removed the workers’ healthcare. You like that, eh?

Boy Howdy the folks that did that really showed how smart they were !

Which planet are you living on, who do you think that conservatives are all excited about like we haven't seen since the Reagan days?

Romney must be mighty tired of licking his index finger and holding it high in the air.

Six months after a new president takes office, it is years before the next election and you think that conservatives should not be shaping the primary to their advantage?

You think that we should not try to stop a candidate that is totally unacceptable to us from being there at the start of the future primary season?

If it is too late now to start shaping the field and getting rid of the chaff, then when does that get done?

You seriously think that “credentials” are a requirement? Reagan was largely gone from the scene for nearly 6 years. He was a former governor, yes. And Palin is still gonna be a former governor, regardless of the circumstances.

Palin is a lot more like Reagan than people realize. A position means jack nowadays. I mean, how do you think Obama got elected?

It reminds me of that old Churchill anecdote when a young backbench MP approached the great old man, pointed at the Labour benches and asked him what he thought of 'the enemy'. "The enemy?", he answered. "My boy, that is the opposition. The enemy is seated behind me."

One of the greatest quotes EVER!

With Reagan it was never a matter of just holding his own when dealing with the Katie Courics and Charlie Gibson's, he was articulating values in a way that like him or not, you admired him. He was politically astute and understood what it takes to get the “sausage made” on a national stage. And he was not “gone” for 6 years. He was out making the case for conservatism in a way that appealed to voters that GOP could have never have attracted before him.

Not to mention the public flam baying of Carter and Dukakis. We cheapen his legacy when we take umbrage with it.

By the way, been to the land of the rising sun several times. Where are you at?

And I am certain that Gov. Palin will be doing the same thing, going around the country and getting people who are not normally willing to vote contrary to "hope and change" to vote against "hope and change".

That's the exciting part of the future, we don't know what's going to happen, but we have a guide. I believe that the Governor will follow in nearly the same steps.

And the Flambege of Obama is about to begin, though you wouldn't notice it from the media coverage. All it starts with is a "chinese whisper".

As for where I'm at: Oregon. Where I was in Japan, I was around Sendai.

And you are a norrow-vision idiot who wouldn't recognize the truth if it hit you in the face.
I wouldn[’t want Romney to be the president for one simple reason: Idiots like you would spend the next four years trying to tear him to pieces, whether it was good for the country or not. And I would have to spend four years challenging all the crap that would be thrown at him. Also, every bigoted, anti-Mormon in the country would come crawling out of the wood work to spread their poison.
I could be called a Mittbot only in the sense that I would like to spare him and myself all that misery.
If you are not too dumb, you might be able to put your brain around that.
