So they didn't have TV in Indonesia? The whole mission was broadcast in about every country start to finish.

He mentioned in his autobiography from 1995 that he was going through some old papers of his and ran across his birth certificate. So even if Hawaii DID destroy their paper copies as they went electric (and purged the names of hospitals and birth physicians from the record), he STILL should have an original in his possession.

Then again, maybe he didn’t write that book after all and the mythmaking has been going on for well over a decade.

Which is a shame because these men put their lives on the line for that risky mission. And Buzz Aldrin has concrete ideas about how a Mars mission should be handled (number of people, length of mission, etc.) and how people shouldn’t be going to the moon anymore to do the types of things we can do with robots there (send people to repair the robots, or barring that, send up new robots).

Mars would require colonization. And shipments of provisions and more equipment.
