According to the Nashville Gay Pride website, Home Depot gave over $5,000 to be a major sponsor of its 2009 Gay Pride Festival in June. But simply financing the event wasn't enough for the big box chain.
Home Depot also signed on as a vendor, conducting kid's craft workshops for children via a special booth set up just for them.
To this end, Home Depot is basically encouraging the attendance of children at events which openly expose them to transvestites, cross-dressers, and homosexual activities.
Unfortunately, Home Depot's participation in the Nashville Pride Festival doesn't stand alone. It has also sponsored kid's booths at other gay events in Atlanta, Kansas City, Durham, Portland, and San Diego.
Gay pride events have a long track record for offensive public displays of homosexual conduct. Obviously, Home Depot is OK with the idea of exposing children to an unhealthy and risky environment. So much so, it is willing to participate in it.
TAKE ACTION
Let Home Depot know you are sickened by their support and approval of children at homosexual events. If you are a customer, please add an additional personal line to our prepared letter to Home Depot.
After sending your email, make an extra effort to protect children by calling Home Depot personally. Paula Drake is the Senior Manager for Corporate Communications. Her number is 770-384-3439.

What?
Looks like it’s Lowe’s for us.
Sad that Home Depot would stoop to that level
Home Depot isn’t even a kids store. Why do they have an “outreach” to kids?
Hey Home Depot...You can do it...BUT WE’RE NOT GONNA HELP!
My thoughts exactly.
Home Depot must be shifting their marketing to interior decorating alone.
Big sale today on bead curtains, lotion dispensers and gerbil tubes.
No wonder HD is in trouble.
Let the ‘mos make their profit margins for them. I won’t.
Come to think of it, WTH is a Gay Pride event doing in Nashville? This is the South, fer cryin' out loud!
No .. the reason they are in trouble is because of the poorest service in the industry. Try and find assistance. Try and get checked out through their automated system of 5 self checkout registers, monitored by one clerk.
Not a single order goes through without one price glitsch ... and of course the single clerk is monitoring 5 machines. 3 years ago I had a couple hundred bucks of merchandise in a cart trying to check out ... I finally left it and walked out. Never been back since, and have no inclination to do so.
Stupid people have no business in business.
Ditto for Lowe’s. Never knew that Arthur Blank was pimping a freak show.
I miss the old days when you’d go to “Bob’s Hardware” store or whatever. Bi box chains are ALWAYS doing the wrong thing politically.
We’ve still got a thriving “Bob’s Hardware” in our town (actually, the owner is Henry). It’s a great place and all his staff are very well trained. He gets my business every chance I get. There’s very little chance Henry would show up at a buggering event.
BTW, what’s with the “pride” moniker? Why would one be proud of shoving Mr. Wangdoodle up some other guy’s poop chute? Pride comes from accomplishment and I sure don’t see much accomplishment in deviancy.
Never knew that Arthur Blank was in the business of pimping freak shows. Lowes just had another customer fall into their lap. Great job Art.
Just tried to leave an email at the HD contact link. Site would not accept message — TWICE. Overloaded??
I HOPE so.
We built our house from Home Depot and Lowe’s. Currently building in our basement.
Lowe’s it is.
One Saturday a month, Home Depot has a free kids’ workshop where they have a little build-a-whatever project that the kids can make and take home - picture frame, garden caddy, display box, bird house. It’s a nice little program. However, taking it to a gay pride parade is over the line.
They’re making the strangest things out of wooden dowels these days.......
Home Depot thinks gay pride means great family event. I am so sicken by these companies that now I started a list of who not to go to. Home Depot being first on the list.
Looks like its Lowes for us.
Sorry, they are doing the same thing and, so is Pepsi Co.
Her mailbox is full.Guess I will just go by the store.
Yeah that is the next best stop.
Maybe you could publish your list.
As far as HD, we’ve always been big-time “doityourselfers” and have given them a lot of business over the years. We’ll be glad to spend our $$ elsewhere.
They don’t care? Fine. If they lose enough customers over stuff like this, they might start to care.
Most always go to Lowes anyway, No more Homo Depot now at all...
did you know of this?
“.You can do it...BUT WERE NOT GONNA HELP!”
That is Lowe’s saying....but I get what you are saying!
FReeper unite!

Scew you, Home Depot. You will not see another dollar from me. They seem to be forgetting there’s Lowes, Menards and True Value out there, and they’re more than willing to service my account.
no... and they'll never see another dime of mine, not that i shop there much but never again.
Never EVER again will I tread through a Home Depot doorway.
They can be content with all the business fags provide.
Lowe’s is far worse. They are a primary sponsor of HGTV. HGTV has an extremely pro-homo agenda. The majority of their programming contains in-your-face gay home owners, contracts, counsultants, etc...
I boycotted Lowes over HGTV. Now the Depot... Looks like it’s back to Ace and/or True Value.
Thanks for the update on Lowe’s. The ACE Hardware is less than a 1/4 mile from the house. I will shop there for any hardware needs.
My latest exchange with HOMO DEPOT.
(HDs response to my initial protest letter)
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting The Home Depot Customer Care.
We appreciate your feedback. We sponsor numerous community events to reach our wide-reaching, diverse customer base.
At the discretion of our field teams, Kids Workshops are a standard part of any community event we sponsor; intended for those already attending the event.
We understand your concerns and will certainly take your feedback into consideration for future events.
Thank you again for contacting us.
Sincerely,
Nayeem
Customer Care Research Team
(And my email in response to their unresponsive response)
Nayeem,
To be sure I understand, Home Depot will proceed in sponsoring (or has proceeded I didnt mark the date) a KIDS WORKSHOP in connection with a Nashville GAY PRIDE FUNCTION? Encouraging young BOYS to mix and mingle with MALE HOMOSEXUALS sounds like a GREAT IDEA to someone there at Home Depot??
I have known a number of homosexuals and had some as friends (PLATONIC, Id hasten to add!). As a microcosm of the population as a whole, I have generally found most of them to be peaceable, respectful people. Having said that, do you REALLY believe that providing them a target-rich environment of impressionable, adolescent or pre-pubescent boys is wise? You DO understand, dont you, that due to their orientation, most homosexuals do not REPRODUCE. THEY RECRUIT!
Inasmuch as some folks there apparently lack a moral frame of reference, Im also guessing they have no idea just HOW TWISTED THAT IS!
Oh, and thanks for the completely UNRESPONSIVE response to my first email. A state of moral relativism and oblivion must be a job requirement for management hires there at the home office.
PS: I rather suspect this email will earn me a visit from the P.C. Gestapo.
PPS: Now ask me if I care!
(BTW, A friend suggested I send a copy of this exchange to JOE GIBBS RACING. They profess to be ardent Christians but get major sponsorship bucks from HD. You can contact Gibbs at webmaster@joegibbsracing.com. Might even suggest they seek those bucks from Chic Filet or another Christian outfit.)
