Is Obama Re-Establishing 'Black Street Cred?'

Nothing was as surreal about last night's press conference on healthcare as was the mention of the incident at Harvard regarding African American Studies Department Head Professor Gates and the "white cop."
Not only did this seem oddly out of place, but it is instructive that the President admitted to both "not knowing the facts" yet obviously he sided with the black professor over the white cop. Allow me to submit the following theory: The President was trying to re-establish his "black street cred" a tad. As we know, black callers to radio shows like that of Al Sharpton have been getting disenchanted with the President. This was a perfect chance for the President to once again be "down for the struggle."
American Thinker first had the "black streed cred" theory in a March 14, 2008 blog, and was cited on talk radio, and then ended up on the Sunday TV Talk Shows.
Consider some excerpts from that blog in light of the new race firestorm started by the President last night: Barack Obama sought out the message of Jeremiah Wright, joined and remained in and supported TUCC because of that message, and in fact named his book after a sermon of that message. He even used that message so that black voters in Chicago would not focus on the half of Obama that is white, and on his privileged Hawaiian education. To paraphrase the good pastor, he "was riding dirty" on that message.
In other words, he embraced Wright and TUCC's agenda to get his black street cred and to escape his "white half."

I, for one, think this was a planted question. Anyone else? This question was so out of place.

So omniracial Obama is "ridin' dirty" when playing to black folks, and "white and nerdy" when playing to white folks?

I think it was planted. SOmeone posted here that the purpose was to distract the newscycle from his health care reform.
It could be that..or it could be he is trying to incite more racial tension..or both.

Given his dropping poll numbers with all but the rat cool-aiders and blacks,I`d say that may be a correct assessment.Stir up anti-white sentiments to close ranks with blacks while trying for some white guilt with increasingly disillusioned whites.
If this is the case, he is a sleazy sack of snake oiled silver sardines!
Am I to assume his Arabic side gets included giving him twice the black credits? Or is he going to play muslim/ arabic vs white vs black on any day he chooses? Is this all for convenience’s sake? So when he’s pandering, does he choose to his maximum benefit while being untrue to all? Isnt that called a liar? So if he continues along in his state of personal identity ,,, I have to ask - how can he make the right decision for the nation if he cant make it for himself?
Well, I didn’t watch the address, and don’t know all the facts, but I think Obama reacted stupidly.
Absolutley a planted question and 0bama had his answer prepared.
Remember, this fraud uses racial politics to get his way. Watch out.

“Black street cred” must be about the stupidest term in existence, describing the stupidest thing in existence.
You put your black street cred in one hand, and whiz in the other hand, and see which hand fills up first.
Nor any respect for middle class Americans to whom he made many pre-election promises of no new taxation. The comment he made in this situation was NOT presidential nor fitting for someone who represents ALL Americans, not just those who have black skin color.
He's done a Sonia Sodermeyer in this instance, putting his "rich black male heritage" to lead him to a surmised conclusion.

While BO is wrong about a lot, he was right about the cop acting stupidly. It really is pretty obvious.
As of the time of the presser, we knew the cop knew Gates wasn’t a burglar, and somehow Gates still ends up getting arrested. At his own home. Unless gates threw a brick at the cop or something, there was no call for arrest.
This was about dis-respecting the police, NOT race, like everybody thinks.

According to the police report by the hispanic officer, after Gates had gone outside the house, he began yelling AT THE GATHERING ONLOOKERS that he was being harassed by racist cops.
The police don't know who all is in the crowd of onlookers. This is a left-wing college campus, someone might well start throwing bricks at the cops if they genuinely believed that this man was being abused by racist cops. College radicals getting in altercations with cops is something of a tradition in this country.
Indeed, from the words of the Race-Hustler-in-Chief, were he there we might imagine The One himself throwing a brick at those stupid, racist cops.
The FIRST consideration for patrol officers investigating a report is SAFETY, the safety of the officers, of bystanders and of suspected offenders.
Gates had NO business outside of his house shouting to the onlookers that he was being abused by racist cops, as he could potentially have created a very dangerous situation depending on who was in the crowd of onlookers.
I'm afraid you might be correct. But does 13% of the population really want to pick a fight with the majority? That sounds suicidal to me. Yes, many of that majority are sheeple, have "white guilt", are lefties, etc. But many more are not. Does Mr. Obama know he's playing with fire, or is this the ACORN community organizer talking?
