Phone Call - Background at URL ^

Posted on 07/23/2009 7:50:52 PM PDT by cmj328

Just heard on the nationwide pro-life teleconference organized by StopTheAbortionMandate.com that the Pence Amendment is up for a vote tomorrow in the House. The Rules Committee's decision was apparently announced earlier this evening.

The Pence Amendment would cut all Title X funding for Planned Parenthood, which amounts to over a third of their budget. Planned Parenthood performs over 300,000 abortions each year.

Call or write your reps TONIGHT and tell them to vote YES on the Pence Amendment.

Much credit to Mike Pence for this.

He should be the Republican nominee for President in 2012.

It’s hard for Congressmen to run for President, he’ll make an excellent VP though.

I do not think she is ready for the big job, even though I like her very much.

McCain was a well-known Senator and still tanked.

It isn’t harder for a Congressman to pursue the Presidency if he can plow through the Romneys and McCains and get the nomination.

Sarah Palin is no conservative: she spoke of seriously considering killing Trig by abortion.

No true Right to Life person could do that.

Sarah Palin is just another self-serving hypocrite.

I believe she has leadership ability and that is what we need. Time will tell; but both would be very suitable POTUS or VP DeMint is a very desirable candidate too, also with leadership ability. He is engaging with the people and putting his money where his mouth is; so to speak.

We need leadership.

"I like Pence, but this has about as much chance of passing as a Democrat getting caught selling human organs..."

No, but its defeat will highlight for middle-of-the-roaders that the Dems are unwilling to get serious about saving money to pay for healthcare.

We need to be talking about taxpayer-funded abortion at a time when we have a budget crisis and this is a good conversation-starter

Palin perhaps could have brought a kind of rock-star popularity to the next election. I really admire her and agree with everything I know about her attitudes and policies, and I wish her well in whatever she chooses for herself, and I will support her in whatever way I can. She has earned that. But the team that you mention is a Conservative dream, and I pray that DeMint and Pence are there on the ticket in 2010.

Still a good symbolic gesture by Pence. Show America the Republicans stand up for the unborn in the wake of more Americans saying the are opposed to abortion.

I actually bought a domain name (but later let it expire) for a Pence 2012 run. Pence is going to float to the surface, eventually.

He is a great man.

His motto: “Christian. Conservative. Reppublican. In that order.”

Sadly, he was a very active Catholic and worked for the Church until the heretic liberals working in the Church drove him away.

Mike Pence, in addition to his stalwart principles, has a unique ability to inspire youth to work for him.

He is exactly what conservatives need in 2012, not another “instant name recognition” candidate like Romney.

Everyone judges.

The questions are:

1. By what standard?

2. Does the person judging hold to that standard themselves?

The standard in this case is the principle that innocent lives should never be taken by abortion.

I would never waiver from that.

Sarah Palin did:

She is unworthy of the 2012 nomination because of that.

She did pass the test, though. Jesus was tempted for 40 days. He did not fail. King David committed adultery and murder and God still loved David who put his life in God’s hands for judgment, and in so doing...God took his baby. Hmmmm.

Tres Harsh! Again!! We will just have to agree to disagree.
Uh, tho you provided a lengthy rationale for your harsh judgement, what I really wanted was a bonafide source stating that Sarah Palin was considering (only considering because obviously she did not actually follow thru) an abortion. Frankly, I have not heard/seen that. I think it is really poor form to make those accusations and not provide a source when asked. Oh, and I even googled the subject—nothing listed, so where is the story of her what planning, considering, attempting an abortion? The fact that Trig is now a healthy tot is proof that she is pro-life, she did not follow thru. Period.

I believe her decision regarding her baby is really between her/her family and God. Private. If she actually chose to share a tough decision with which she struggled, then I admire her for sharing it and being honest, but then I have no source from you. People of lesser integrity keep their controversial actions private.

I choose not to judge her for something she may (or likely NOT) have considered. Even so, perhaps this will help you to understand, we are all tempted, Jesus was tempted & resisted. She may have considered to do something questionable, but obviously, she resisted. Frankly, I am not going to judge her—I leave that to her Maker.

I am glad that God forgives; I also know what the Bible says about judging.... I am sure He would find her worthy even if you don’t

PENCE: “YOU CAN’T REDUCE ABORTIONS BY FUNDING ABORTION PROVIDERS WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS” PDF Print

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence issued the following statement after the House of Representatives defeated an amendment offered by Congressman Pence that would have denied taxpayer funding to the largest abortion provider in America, Planned Parenthood:

“How the federal government spends taxpayer money says a great deal about who we are as a nation. Federal spending should reflect the cherished values of an overwhelming majority of American taxpayers. Even pro-choice advocates oppose taxpayer funding of abortion and it is morally wrong to commit the tax dollars of prolife Americans to promoting or performing abortions at home and abroad. It is deeply disturbing that this Democrat Congress just defeated the will of a strong majority of the American people who oppose federal funding for abortion.

“Let me be clear: the largest abortion provider in America should not be the largest recipient of federal funds under Title X. Right now Title X funding provides critical services to underserved communities across the country. But that support should never include promoting or providing abortions. While our Democrat colleagues talk about their desire to reduce abortions, today’s vote suggests otherwise. You can’t reduce abortions by funding abortion providers with taxpayer dollars.

“The right to life is not a partisan issue but a moral one. I will continue to fight for the right to life and for the day when abortions are not funded by the federal government. Taxpayers and the just cause for the unborn deserves no less.”

Isn’t life just full of twists and turns?

Look, we have Sarah pregnant with a child that her doctor encourages her to abort and he turns out to be the greatest gift of her life. Then...we have an unwed 17 yr old Stanley Ann Dunham who screwed some foreigner and got knocked up. I’m sure her doctor told her that she was pregnant with a healthy normal baby. And look what he’s turned out to be ... a racist, evil dictator in the making.......

What would she actually do in office?

This is why Obama encourages abortions in America. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysBJ5G4m67s

Abortions and his Obama Deathcare Plan should knock the American population down to a manageable size for the Muslim’s to take us over. The Muslims are breeding like rabbits so their populations are growing in leaps and bounds.

Please watch this video, it explains how the Muslims are populating the world in huge numbers while the rest of the population is dwindling.
