An idiot from a “9/11 Truth” group cornered Ron Paul recently and asked why he hasn’t “come out about the truth about 9/11.”
Paul’s answer: he has too much to do, and he can’t handle the controversy....

Most likely just trying to give the brushoff to a nut job. You can’t reason with those people, best to just humor them and move on. I don’t like Paul much but I think there’s nothing to this.
I’m not a big fan of RoPaul, but this smells more like another piece of Charles Johnson’s yellow journalism than anything else. Please come back with this when you have a more credible source.
Ron Paul is not a Truther - if by “Truther” you mean someone who thinks 9/11 was an inside job. If you attend any speeches the guy gives, you’ll see that he says it was a bunch of arabs pissed off at the US for our foreign policy.
I think Ron Paul is just smart enough to know that he shouldn’t be associated with the kookie idea.

Well, I'm not the one who did the linking. That said, Johnson is on the right side of some issues, such as Israel and Islamo-fascism, and the wrong side of others. But I'm sure that to call Ron Paul a Truther is ludicrous.

Look, when you respond “What of it?” to the fact that Ron Paul and others have basically alluded to the fact that we somehow “deserved” what happened on 911. Or that this whole nation “deserves” the ills that Obama is trying to load on it you are getting on my fighting side.
God never said for the lost within a nation to humble themselves and pray. God said “if MY people, who are called by MY name” humble themselves in prayer, then he would heal their land.
There is nothing in their about spouting off and claiming that any of that kind of cr@p wis deserved. That is for God to say and sure not for anyone else to say about their own country in general.

RP never said “we deserved it”. He said US presence on Saudi Arabia was motivation to the terrorists.
If you watch one country go commie and fail after another decade after decade and then you decide to do the same thing, you get what you deserve. I think Americans will get what they deserve from electing socialists.

Exactly how did someone who thinks 9/11 was an inside job become a “Truther”
I don’t think it was an inside job but I believe there was more to it than we have been told.
Two events that stand out in my mind are a C141 leaving Charleston, SC, heading northeast like a missile was on it’s tail, shortly after the attacks. Remember that because I had never seen a C141 flown like that before and have often wondered where it was going in such a hurry.
The second thing I remember where reports of people running/being sought in South Carolina through Alabama. Nothing ever came of these reports, were ghosts being chased (possibly) or were things going on that have never been revealed.
I think the Anthrax Attacks are the stranger part of it and am in no way convinced it wasn’t related to 9/11. Does that make me a “Truther”.
Responding to a tin foil hat wearing interviewer does not imply a belief in the assertions being made by the questioner.
RP has made his beliefs very clear, and 9/11 being an “inside job” is not it.
He has stated NUMEROUS TIMES that there should be another investigation into 9/11.

I've seen "war" in Iraq and this ain't it.
I think you're being too generous to Congressman Paul, and I actually like the guy. If he doesn't believe in the 9/11 Truth garbage then he should have the courage to politely but clearly state as much. He likes to trumpet his commitment to principle but then he plays along with these people so as to not risk losing their support.
Of course, you can't expect perfection out of anyone, and certainly not from politicians.
That doesn't necessarily make him a Truther. I don't think the government was behind 9/11 but there are aspects of it that might warrant further investigation. Things like intelligence failures leading up to the event, connections to other terrorist activities, flaws in our immediate response, etc.
I have seen his bunch give out flyers for 9/11 Truther flims many times.

I disagree with the way you characterize his words. Paul is giving an explanation, not a justification.
Suppose a guy goes walking down a dangerous inner city street at 1:00 a.m., carrying a big sack of quarters. He gets mugged, and then I say "That guy shouldn't have gone through that part of town." I'm not saying that the victim did anything morally wrong, nor that he didn't have a right to keep his money, nor that he shouldn't have the right to walk anywhere he wants at any time.
If I said "he shouldn't have done that" I'm really not making a moral statement at all. I'm just saying that the mugging was fairly predictable given the circumstances and that the victim's behavior was not prudent. My statement would mean that I think the victim "deserved" what happened to him.
You know the traditional Republican position was to just let the muzzies kill each other. ‘
But, oh no, now we have to go spread Wilsonian “Democracy” around the world to every hell hole on earth.
