Fresh off a legislative session that he dominated, Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal has injected himself into the national discussion on health care, blasting the idea of a public insurance plan pushed by Congressional Democrats and the Obama administration.
In an online column published today at Politico.com [http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/25136.html], Jindal, widely viewed as a future presidential candidate for the GOP, repeats many criticisms that Republicans and health insurance executives have leveled at Democratic plans moving through Congress.
The House Democrats' version, Jindal said, would eventually run private insurance companies out of business, leaving the country with "government-run health care."
"The plan the House Democrats are developing is a radical restructuring of health care in America," Jindal wrote. "You may like it, you may not, but it is just that; there is no denying or sugarcoating it."

Pelican State ping
He sounded great as usual.
I agree. I don't understand how/why the GOP is unable or unwilling to use the DNC's "crisis mentality" against them. The DNC will run a campaign (usually for the children) warning of impending doom and chaos if we don't do something (i.e. pass healthcare reform, cap & trade, etc.). Why can't somebody on our side indulge in a little scare mongering, and warn what will happen if we do pass these things?
I’m really pulling for him as the GOP’s Presidential candidate in 2012.
Here’s a guy who could likely win a presidential race. I mean, I’d VOTE for Palin or Romney, but I wouldn’t BET on them....
