CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa The eBay seller who first offered and then promised to reveal to WND an alleged Barack Obama birth certificate from Mombasa, Kenya, has dropped communications with a team of people offering to help him verify the document, only fueling belief the sale was a scam.
As WND reported, an eBay seller known originally as "colmado_naranja" claimed to have an authentic document from Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa proving Obama's birth there at 7:24 p.m. on Aug. 4, 1961.

Did the scammer actually find a buyer?
Freepers exposed him almost immediately as a petty fraud.
He’s taking full advantage of the Jimmy Hoffa retirement plan.
Probably a scam, but on the other hand ?????????
Did he ever sell or get money for his the BC?
A Kenyan with an internet scam??? Wow, that’s something you don’t see very day! (sarc)
I wish I could say I believed that.
Unfortunately what I observed were a lot of FReepers convinced that Ebay was conspiring to keep THE TRUTH from getting into the hands of somebody who could show that Obama wasn't born in the U.S. Granted there were also those on FR who saw the BS from the start but there were more than a few suckers keeping the story alive.
A few perhaps. You don’t have to take my word though.

They never change their dumping grounds.
You can bet on it!!! World Nut Daily was probably the high bidder.
You said — A few perhaps. You dont have to take my word though.

Yeah, a *few* all right... LOL...
I was one of those who said this sounded like a scammer and that things were not right. And finally, after a while, it was finally identified as such.
The *really funny thing* was that even after some people identified him/her (can’t remember which one it was...) as “certifiable” — there was a poster or two who said that it probably took someone who was *insane* to be able to get Obama’s birth certificate... LOL...
—
And “Artemis Webb”, you’re right, there were a *lot of FReeper* posters on those threads *hammering* on anyone who “questioned” whether this was a scammer and a fraud, according to the circumstances that were seen... :-)
OBAMACIDE?
WorldNetDaily is the one news source and outlet that has kept up on the Obama birth certificate issue. It’s an issue that is relevant, as long as people do rational things to address the issue.
One of those rational things to do, that I’m talking about, is to get the various state legislatures to pass a law require specific documentation in order for a candidate to be on the ballot. Oklahoma, Arizona and Missouri was doing that. I know that Oklahoma’s bill didn’t pass this session, but we can try again. I don’t know about the other states, though.
WorldNetDaily also has been putting up billboards around the country saying “Where the Birth Certificate?”...
I think that WorldNetDaily is probably the *only* news outlet that will post articles about the birth certificate issue. You can’t find it elsewhere.
But, I’m also in favor of doing things about that, in the real world, that actually *work* — which is why I support the legislative approach.

For anyone else, read the full article — as it’s very informative as to what happened.
In related news, man was found dead in his hut in Kenya today. It was ruled a suicide even though the forensic evidence conclusively proves the bullet entered in his back...... three times.......
lol obvious
You asked — Did he ever sell or get money for his the BC?

Take a look at the article. It makes it clear that a lawyer and an “agent” who was trying to help the guy with the “document” that he said he had — withdrew from working with him, because he would not verify what he had and he would not cooperate. He was *still scamming* even with some people trying to “help him”...
That was exactly like ole “Chief Editor Korir” and the Michelle Obama phone tape that said Obama was born in Kenya, part of the API (African Press International) scam... LOL...
He had it coming,
He had it coming,
He only had himself to blame,
If you’d have been there,
If you’d have heard it,
I betcha you would
Have said he is insane!
bump for later
Someone building a Stadium somewhere?
You said — lol obvious

Well, you should have been on those threads back then, when the eBay scammer was trying to auction off something that he would not verify with anyone — for $1 million...
There were a lot of FReepers who were *gullible*and “buying it” (figuratively speaking)...
I pretty much avoid those types of threads now..too depressing...
Oh I think there were a hell of a lot of FReepers who bought his act hook, line, and sinker.
Hilarious reading... LOL...
Smith did then authorize a public relations agent to speak on his behalf and hire an attorney, but after several unsuccessful attempts to get Smith to offer any proof of the document’s authenticity, the agent has since withdrawn his representation, now convinced the alleged birth certificate sale was nothing but “a money-grabbing fraud.”
The agent, Sean Boyer, is a Pennsylvania businessman who contacted Smith through eBay. He told WND his goal was simply to help bring the alleged document into the light for possible verification.
WND negotiated with Boyer on how best to coax further information from Smith and worked behind the scenes to prepare processes for authenticating or disproving any document Smith might produce.
“The Obama birth certificate that I listed on eBay was not a hoax. I repeat, NOT A HOAX,” Smith insisted.
When pressed to produce evidence of his claims, however, Smith told WND in an email, “I won’t be bullied into posting a video. I won’t adhere to any time deadline.”
I think he took lessons from Chief Editor Korir at API (African Press International) and the Michelle Obama phone tape *scam* that he perpetrated all the way through the time that Obama took office... :-)

I understand that, for anyone who knows that something is wrong, in that this information can’t be revealed. There is something being hidden.
But, I think that too many are going about it in the wrong way, resulting in the designation (which other conservatives have given to this group) as “Obama Derangement Syndrome”....
I believe you would do good in petitioning your state legislator in getting a state law passed requiring specific documentation for a candidate to be on the ballot. This is one rational thing to do, which has a greater chance at getting *something constructive done* — rather than yapping and complaining about things and/or being gullible about “birth certificate scams”...
You said — Oh I think there were a hell of a lot of FReepers who bought his act hook, line, and sinker.

You’re *absolutely right* — as I was there, getting *hammered* by those same gullible FReepers... :-)
[... I’m just waiting for those same FReepers to show up here denying it, saying they knew it all along, and they never “bought into it” and that I’m a “troll”... LOL...]
5..., 4..., 3..., 2..., 1...
:-)
Beam me up, Scotty.
