Turnabout of all aspects is only fair. Consider the following a quick review of the politics of personal destruction 101 (PDD101):
1) Major Cook files his lawsuit, not against the government, but against the legality of orders from a possible Usurper. Important distinction here, as he was not sueing the Government as you write, he was not sueing to get out of his commitment. He stated his reasoning in the order very clearly on this.
2) The next day, these orders are revoked, and Major Cook is immediately fired from his civilian job that very same afternoon (if not late morning).
The above timeflow is starkly immediate and related. Think unlawful dismissal. Think non-protection as a de facto Whistleblower.
The biggest threat presented by Major Cook’s lawsuit was that it requested discovery of chosen1’s long form birth certificate. DoD’s primary response - the revocation of his orders - squelched this immediately... and that Big-Brother like THUD of the book landing this issue has raised alarms, brought new questions.
Questions like, “why has DoD set the precedent that anyone can question NCA legitimacy and now seek to have their orders revoked (the get-out-of-war-free card that another freep thread appropriately has labeled)?”
Standard tactics in PDD101 would have been better served by a several day gap between items 1 & 2, above. Enough time for the brouhaha to wind down, enough time for the next “Michael Jackson/Lib Icon dies” news event to take front page in our pitiful attention span.
But someone in the WH had to go and catch a case of Hubris - and I pray this arrogance reaps it’s deserved reward.

Most “Revolutions” start within the military of a country. Just look at history. Ours will be no different IMHO. We are waiting for our brave soldiers to defend our freedom against domestic enemies.
People who love freedom will be protesting and our military will be called upon to fire on the protesters. The military will refuse the order and the government will collapse without the power to force it’s will on “we the people”.
Pray for our men in uniform, for a grave task has fallen on the shoulders, one that is hard to bear.
Military can not be ignoring this, the Joint Chiefs of Staff must be banging their heads over this right now.
Now we know why Obama was so upset over Honduras Military throwing their President out.
