Apparently, some are still suffering under the delusion that Republicans are conservatives.

Hello? Look around, how many conservatives do you see currently serving in the congress?

Conservatives love Mrs. Palin.

There is plenty of time for her to change that perception.

"Only 33 percent of Republicans questioned in a CBS News survey released Monday night say that Palin would have the ability to serve effectively as president."

continued......'A total of three people were surveyed: Mitt Romney, Steve Schmidt and Todd Palin.'

MTV, VH1, TMZ and BET got Obama elected. Didn’t have anything to do with experience. If you don’t believe me.... well you’re a racist.

Yes, I too believe a CNN poll is very objective.

Yep, and here’s all that CBS has released on it:

http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/poll_Palin_071309.pdf?tag=contentMain;contentBody

The Palin questions they number start in the 30’s—God knows what else they were asking beforehand. As you point out, the statistical validity of their 256 Republicans surveyed would be questionable, and they underweight them among all respondents as well. But notably by almost a 7-to-1 ratio respondents think the media have been tougher on Palin than on other politicians, and for all they’ve certainly heard about her, more than a third of the respondents said they don’t know enough to judge.

With NBC so far in the tank for the Dems it’s easy to forget just how compliant CBS is in doing a ridiculous poll, but there you go.

This past weekend, at a family reunion, I was talking to a very staunch conservative uncle. He is a business owner, and in fact a past president of the local Chamber of Commerce. During her first speech for VP, he fell in love with her. After that, not so much. His opinion slipped with every speech she gave. He definitely does not think she is ready right now.

On the other hand, when I declared my love for Sarah, my sister in law (who is a teacher, and always votes Dem) admitted out loud, that she in fact had voted for McCain solely because of Sarah, and plans to campaign for her if she decides to run in 2012. My sister in law realizes this will put her on the other side of the teachers union, but she doesn't care.

For the first time in my life, when Sarah Palin was running, I fell into the "identity politics" crowd. I was/ and still am, very intrigued by how much like me Sarah is. I think she would be a great President, and I, for one really hope she runs.

I think it’s a reasonable reaction to think this poll isn’t accurate. It may very well be an indication of some problems though.

Conservatives will still support her. That’s the problem. We need more than Conservatives to support her. And that has pretty much been my problem with recent moves by Palin. They made it less likely for non-Conservatives to back her.

As a good friend implied to me, with Obama things may be so bad in 2012, that an aardvark could beat him at the polls. Palin is still viable as long as she doesn’t blow it.

I don’t think that CNN is qualified to be a news disseminator.

Let’s see - a CNN story about Sarah Palen based on a CBS poll, and we’re supposed to believe their reported conclusions?

Ellen Goodman also has a column out today trashing Palen.

Personally, I think SarahCuda has got them worried.

You GO, girl!

Since each governor is the head of his or her state’s national guard, Gov. Palin has more military experience than Obama & Biden, combined.

However, to claim that this poll is bogus is an emotional reaction not grounded.

Considering other polls are showing Palin as supported by 25-26% of the GOP, it is hard to believe only 33% consider her even qualified. That was her weakness during the General election too, but these numbers have been manipulated down. CBS has an agenda to stop Palin, so I am sure the question was politically loaded. They probably preceded the question with negative spin.

FYI, the job of POTUS is not up for debate until Nov 2012. And Sarah Palin has not announced yet she is running for the job in 2012. End of story.

If you took a poll when Tiger Woods was 21 (1997) just after he won the Masters whether he was capable of winning 4 majors in a row, I would venture to guess over 90% of golf writers would have claimed there was no way he would be able to achieve that feat. Then in 3-4 years it happened.

This poll is not meaningless because no poll is meaningless but does not take into account that if Sarah Palin is competing for the Presidency in 2011-2012 she will have 2-3 years to prepare herself, improve her performance, demonstrate that she has leadership ability and finally legitimize her credentials as qualified to be POTUS.

And to boot she is a superstar. Like Tiger Woods prepares thoroughly for each major, Sarah Palin will prepare thoroughly for the battle ahead and every eventuality.

You betcha!

Interesting bit from the CNN poll.

Sarah Palin’s favorable/ Unfavorable

23% Favorable

37% Unfavorable

22% Undecided

17% Haven't heard enough

Despite the constant character assassinations from the media, only 37% have an unfavorable view of her. This means 39% are open minded about her. The ball in Palin’s court to prove herself.
