SarahPAC raised $733,000 in five months
RedState.com ^ | Monday, July 13th at 6:46PM EDT | Josh Painter

Posted on 07/13/2009 4:44:15 PM PDT by Josh Painter

That's right, five months -- not six --  bacause as Allah notes at Hot Air -- SarahPAC wasn’t fully operational until the end of January:

"By comparison, Romney’s PAC raised $1.4 million through the end of May, but then fundraising is pretty much Mitt’s full-time gig these days and he already has a polished team around him left over from the primaries. Let’s see what happens in the second half when he and Palin go toe-to-toe."
Not only that, but as Meg Stapleton told Politico:
SarahPAC was actually 'dark,' meaning it took in no money, from a period in mid-April until early June as Palin focused on raising money for her legal-defense fund instead.
Most of the money the Palin PAC raised came from small donors:

"SarahPAC, reported strong support from small donors in its mid-year report.

SarahPAC reported $733,000 in total receipts through June 30, of which $420,000 was 'unitemized' or from donors who contributed $200 or less."

[...]

SarahPAC spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton seems pleased with the political action committee's performance:

"It was a great first half. Just to put it in perspective, we did it with one event and one e-mail from the governor back in February."
At The Fix, Chris... Cillizza's verdict:
"Palin's showing is... a sign that she can raise cash at the national level and that she will be a player in the 2010 midterm elections if she, as expected, chooses to involve herself in downballot races."

"It is all the more impressive given the chaos that surrounded her operation -- and herself -- over the first half of 2009. If Palin can spend her time out of office organizing a serious national effort, these numbers suggest the financial support is out there to help her."

Don’t forget she also raised another 200,000 since her resignation. According to Meg Stapleton, during April through June, it was a dark period, hardly any donations due to them focusing more on her defense fund, but since her resignation, yeah, in ONE WEEK she raised over 200 grand. TAKE THAT LIBERAL HACKS

Because Sarah Palin is also a commodity on the speaking circuit in Conservative circles, she needs less money than someone like Mitt Romney to accomplish the same level of outreach.

What? Why would you say such a thing? In what way is she a “loser?”

Well, if Newt can decide whether or not Cap and Tax commericals with Pelosi are a good idea or not, or perhaps stick to his guns that what Sotomayor said was racism, he may have had a chance..

Newt is the man for our future and our party. If we don’t get away from this Alaska loser we won’t win a single state against these liberal snakes.

Is that the Newt who QUIT immediately after reelection because he lost the speaker's gavel? Or the one that was snuggling Hillary Clinton?

>our party needs balls and brains— not “quitter quitter baby sitter”. [?!?] Newt is the man for our future and our party

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

... By 1998, Gingrich had become a highly visible and polarizing figure in the public's eye, making him a target for Democratic congressional candidates across the nation. His approval rating was 45% in April 1998.

Republicans lost 5 seats in the House in the 1998 midterm elections — the worst performance in 64 years for a party that didn't hold the presidency. Polls showed that Gingrich and the Republican Party's attempt to remove President Clinton from office was widely unpopular among Americans.

Gingrich suffered much of the blame for the election loss. Facing another rebellion in the Republican caucus, he announced on November 6 that he would not only stand down as Speaker, but would leave the House as well. He had been handily reelected to an 11th term in that election, but declined to take his seat. Commenting on his departure, Gingrich said, "I'm willing to lead but I'm not willing to preside over people who are cannibals. My only fear would be that if I tried to stay, it would just overshadow whoever my successor is."

Now, he is just another Media / political hack... kind of 'progressive' if you ask me and we're done with that.

Err, I don’t think so. He carries more baggage than a passenger train.
He’s so inept, he went after Clinton and ended up having to resign from Congress himself. He’s a one Hit Wonder and doesn’t stand a chance in a general election.

Is it some kind of dig at Governor Palin for not aborting her children or for being female or what?

The more the enemies of America try to destroy Sarah Palin, the more American patriots will rally behind her. God willing, she will organize the massive opposition that is America against Hussein and the Socialists out to destroy our country, out to steal our freedom, and out to destroy our future. Hussein and the in-your-face, arrogant members of Congress must be voted out.

Go Sarah Go

Let’s Roll!! We owe our troops and our forefathers no less!

Newt is a closet socialist, as Cheney would say, 'big-time.' I knew the day that he won 'Speaker of the House ' status, when he exalted Alvin and Heidi Toffler - two closet communists, then calling themselves 'futurists' - that there was something seriously amiss with Gingrich. The Tofflers are frauds - and so is Gingrich.

The Tofflers hang themselves in their own writings, which contain the advocacy of homosexual marriage, polygamous marriage, convenience abortion - and they praised and supported Al Gore. They also praised Karl Marx - as they attacked traditional families, patriotism and national sovereignty - as they push 'one world' propaganda.

So spare me any clap-trap about how any American should be looking to Gingrich for leadership - he's a snake in the grass beyond any credibility whatsoever.

Or at least most of her contributors, I am not on the list, but I see Tammy Bruce there, she gave 250.00. Sarah also made over 200,000 after her resignation, so basically, after she resigned, in a ONE week period, her Pac made over 200 grand

“Newt is the man for our future and our party.”

What party?
Newt is a blast from the past and prior to the end of the dem primaries, said that hillary clinton would make a fine president. ‘scuse me, but that went down...NOT.
He led everyone on before the Republican Primaries as if he might give it a shot, but he couldn’t get any support, so he “chose” to provide ideas instead on things like global warming and stuff and things. Then when the price of gasoline zoomed past the affordable zone, he jumped on the drill here, drill now wagon.
Newt is an opportunist. And I didn’t much like the way he moved Sarah Palin into the on, off, on, off position because he was worried she might upstage him at the Annual Senate-House Republican Dinner. It was adolescent and thin skinned, but she stole the spotlight anyway just by showing up.

*rolls eyes* You may not understand why Sarah quit, but most people here do. As she quoted from a saying in her parents' kitchen; "Don't explain, your friends don't expect it, and your enemies will never believe you."

Newt is the man for our future and our party...

You mean the man who whined about being relegated to the back stairs of AF One when traveling with x42? I don't think so. He was strong, when he helped usher in the Republican majority in Congress in 1994. But he's not been as effective lately, especially since he's been perceived as being wobbly on the Global Warming issue. He'll be great, if he can educate voters on conservative issues, but I don't think he'll ever be elected President. I could be proven wrong, but I doubt it.
