Will the Political Establishments Hate for Sarah, Help Create a New Party?

The pundits are wrong. Conventional wisdom is wrong. Sarah Palin's decision to step down as Alaska governor was a brilliant move................. The pundits call her a quitter, but let's be honest - the pundits never liked her to begin with. Better to take one hit for stepping down and move on than to stay in Alaska and die a death by a thousand cuts. Willie's World-Willie Brown

Those are the words of one of the most savy politicians in California's history, Willie Brown. Many pundits and politicians have taken Sarah Palon to task for resigning her post as Governor of Alaska. This critisism is not exclusive to the left, she has her share of detracters on the right. It is amasing how none of these individuals who are attacking her, can stop her. She is quite unique in todays political world. It's even being reported now that she plans to eagerly campaign for Republicans, Independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and energy independence.

All these attacks upon Sarah, from both sides of the isle will only ensure one thing, and that is the inevitable end of the two party system. It is my opinion that while Sarah will remain a Republican for now, she has within her power to mobilize independents, and conservative Democrats behind her. Not since the Gipper has a politician been able to tap that veign of American pride and anger. Like Reagan, she has the potential to effectively neutralize both the Republican and Democrat establishments. This ability could enable her to build up a bi-partisan team of congressmen that could very well usher in a new age in politics.

Largely due to the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854, the country was ripe for a change. That change eventually came in the creation of a new party, the Republican party. While the reasons may differ today then back then, there is again a clamor from the people to change the way politicians get things done. That demand for change is what put the most liberal politician since Henry A Wallace into the White House. Along with a congress that agrees with Obama, America changed into a Socialist nation. However, now the people are beginning to realize what kind of change they got and they don't much like it. Look around you, people are again talking of change, but this time the talk is about real change. A change that could usher in the dawn of a new age and the creation of a new party. Could Sarah Palin play the role of Lincoln as the first President of America's newest Party of power?

The threat is there, why do you think Steele at the DNC is groveling now?

I am not sure that is the best approach, it would be easier to do it within the party. That said there are still many southerners who will “never” vote Republican. I know some, sad but they would knowingly vote for Satan himself first. (sign of ignorance)

So the real question is what is left of the Republican Party if the Conservatives bolt, and how much of the Dems realize that they have been taken for a ride by the Commies. (or care)

Next 6 months will be interesting. Dems imploding by failures in the “economy” and the public in open rebellion against their policies. And at the same time the Conservatives in a full frontal assault on the Left. It can happen.

It’s time to work outside the parties. Money and dollars can be targeted to support conservative candidates and challengers. The war between the R’s and D’ are a distraction to gin up campaign dollars, when they have the same goal and are arguing about how fast to drive to get there.

I agree. I was constantly thinking we need to do things within the Republican party, but lately I have been thinking new party, new party, new party, new party.....Like it keeps coming back into my head.

I cannot get away from it. Then I read about the Republicans helping to destroy the best thing since RR and I am convinced, things MUST CHANGE!

And I do not mean Obama type change either.

I’ve never been a big fan of the third-party idea (after experiencing Ross Perot and a Canadian party that called itself C-CRAP). However, the two parties that we have at present are both looking increasingly hopeless.

Could Sarah Palin play the role of Lincoln as the first President of America's newest Party of power?

The fundamental problem is that on the central moral issue of our day, she is like Stephen A. Douglas, not Lincoln. She takes Gerald R. Ford's position, not Ronald Reagan's.

This thread is a case study in this problem.

However, since the Republican Party has quite obviously Whigged out, I agree that a new party is needed if we are to save the country.

That's why we founded America's Independent Party last year. If you click on my screen name, EternalVigilance, you can learn more about it.

Excuse me? I am not a supporter of the protectionist, pro union Buchanan. I have stood by and supported the republicans through thick and thin, with my time, energy, and money. What has it gotten me? A Marxist government where the Republicans I supporter refuse to stand up and defend ME!

No, I said I think she will remain a Republican, but be ready for the backlash when your precious Republicans attempt to destroy her because she will not be a yes sir gal. The time to fix the party was in the "90"s when Gingrich and company backed down to Clinton and his shutting down of the government.

Now, if they do not support her as I said, or if they are perceived to help destroy her, they will pay the price.

Lots of new/old parties out there. Take your pick or form another which will be just that ‘another one’.

Until our Presidential electoral process is revamped a new party will be useless as they can’t field the necessary 270 electoral college votes to get anyone elected. They may however help keep a democrat or socialist in office.

Yep, the GOP is going to have the choice of taking out their RINOs and elitists,

or be opposed by the largest grassroots conservative movement in memory.

SP is redefining the political landscape.
We’ll no longer have the false “donk v elephant” battle.
The real battle is being exposed - elitists v individualists.

No other party has ever had a person with the magnetism of Reagan at such a time when the perfect storm brews.

I will say again, I can see her getting elected as a Republican, but have we ever had a sitting President change parties? No. Imagine the support and power she would have to create what no third party could ever have been able to do.

She’s gotta run first and it appears that isn’t in the cards at the present time if one can believe what she is currently saying. But as far as her changing parties I’d guess that would be possible as she did resign one office after the people believed and elected her.

A new party, if not done correctly, could split the Republican voters and assure that Democrats stay in power. I would much prefer that the Republican Party do the changing and start listening to the American People. We have seen other countries that have multiple parties and they fail because the votes become so split, they mean nothing.

Well if she is as smart as it is claimed and she may well be, it could be that the 2 1/2 years in elective office as governor has made her realize that elective office isn’t for her. It’s not for everyone by any stretch and she doesn’t seem to have the ability to let the water run off her back without responding. Therefore she may have come to the realization that her abilities lie outside of elective office and in the motivation side where she isn’t tied to anyone location, venue, cause, state, etc. Some are good at that side and it appears she may well have those abilities.

Common sense conservatives look at simple answers. There are simple answers to explain Palin’s stepping out of office. She has given them, and they add up to common sense.

What doesn’t add up is for people who call themselves conservatives to continue to be duped by this Republican party that claims a “sort-of” conservatism every election year and in between those elections acts exactly like liberal-lite.

THAT is what common sense conservatives should ask themselves.

And...if Palin is DOA, then why are you still talking about her?

It's ridiculous.

First of all, she could never get elected with only conservative votes. Not even conservatives are 100% behind her. And that's if she can even get her party on the ballot in all 50 states.

Second, she'll have no one from her party in office to support her legislation. Do you think Republican Senators or Congressmen will draw up a single bill on her say-so after she abandoned both her governship and her party?

Third, the press and media will suddenly support her if it means defeating the Republicans, then they'll destroy and ignore her...just like Perot.

Disarming and weakening the country will be the legacy of anyone who supports her third party run.

It’s always funny to see those striving to be the “smartest guy in the room” coming up with convoluted explanations and being SO wrong.

Simplicity of explanation doesn’t lend itself to anyone “looking brilliant”, so such explanations are rejected by those who seek to draw attention to themselves.

Having an interesting chat here on Palin, and the future of America. Come and joins us.

I am not advocating a third party as some think, I am interested in a discussion of what if's.

As I said, those who attack Sarah, do so at their own political risk. So could the perception American's see of both parties attacking her set the stage for a historic change?

Remember, it is not just conservatives who see the double standard on display. Even Paglia, a hard core feminist has come to her defense. Sarah is building a coalition that is set to roll over this country. So what if? Just what if Americans do the unthinkable and actually take the next step in unison and leave BOTH parties to support her?

Palin is correctly redefining the political battle of our day. She’s stripping away the masks and exposing the opponents as they truly are.

The battle is between the

elitists who want to impose their will on the rest of us
vs
individualists who want to live in liberty.

It won’t be the first time this has happened...Should she be the reason??? Should she be the leader of it???

In my opinion if thise were to happen, it would not be a weak position, or party to be associated with...There is a groundswell of support under the radar for this, and the second someone says go, it is going to be something to see...

And possibly be a part of...

And those people who look at this favorably, had better look beyond the name of this “new” party and look very closely at the “platform” (if they develop one before the announcement), take a look at those who put it together...

I don’t care if they call it the “Booger Picker” party...If it has groundings in true Conservative principles and the platform is consistent to those values...And not get bogged down in trying to please everyone and every issue...Then that would be very attractive to many people in this country right now...

I believe they should pull the trigger soon so we can get started on the local elections this year...Make an impact in 2010, and then decimate the political system in 2012...

Just my opinion...
