Wikipedia says Obama born in Kenya Online encyclopedia can't make up its mind on president's birthplace

Wikipedia just can't seem to make up its mind about where President Barack Obama was born.
The free, online encyclopedia this afternoon displayed at least two countries the commander in chief may have been born in – the United States and Kenya.
WND documented how the entry for the "Early life and career of Barack Obama" changed numerous times.
At 4:45 p.m. Eastern, Wikipedia said:
"Barack Obama, the current President of the United States, was born on August 4, 1961 in either Honolulu, in the state of Hawaii[1], or Mombasa, Kenya, to Barack Obama, Sr. (1936–1982) (born in Nyang’oma Kogelo, Siaya District, Nyanza Province,[2] Kenya Colony, British Empire), and Ann Dunham (1942–1995) (born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas).[3][4] On his mother's side he has a half-sister; on his father's side, Obama has two half-sisters and five surviving half-brothers.[5]"

The Kenya reference is gone, and the article is now locked “indefinitely due to a high risk of vandalism.” Translation: Wikipedia’s inner cabal won’t let it be changed.

I'd say the answer to that is probably yes and wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones who keeping making the changes.

Snopes changed the location of Obamas birth based on a reference to Wikepedia, how will they justify quoting a source that is so easily manipulated?

It says “Honolulu” on the “Certificate of Live Birth”, which anyone can get. No one knows what the actual “Birth Certificate” says.
Why would it matter at this point? My impression based upon other posts on FR re this subject is that we couldn’t remove him from office even if he had been born in Africa.
Yeah...writing an article about a change someone made on Wikipedia is absurd. That’s why I don’t frequent WND anymore...

I do understand the frustration of those who are convinced that Obama is not in fact a citizen and therefore not legally President. However at this point I do think that a more fruitful use of such energy would be to work toward not re-electing this guy in 2012. Continually stoking the Obama is not a citizen line is only going to be met with derision even if some day somehow this were actually proven correct.
In our Republic, the way our founders established it, the people decide what they want. In a Democracy, the government decides what they want. An example would be the EU.
Wikipedia can be changed by it’s users. I never allowed any references from Wikipedia in my students’ work, it just isn’t reliable or valid in many, if not most cases.

Farah's got his own private war going with Wikipedia, because of some of the falsehoods about Farah that have shown up on Wikipedia.
I don't think it's absurd, I think it's probably important to get people to realize how unreliable Wikipedia is.
But on the other hand, maybe they got nuthin'. I just know that Corsi did a lot of research on Obama early on, before a lot of things might have been cleaned up by the Obama people.

Probably not the exact change cited, but this one lasted 55 minutes, which is about 54 minutes longer than I expected it would have.
Sure I do. I just know it ain't gonna ever happen because so many forces are allied against it. Any evidence that might have been uncovered is long since buried. I'd love to see it but hammering this issue is just like peeing in the wind. You're going to end up with stink all over you and efforts that should be spent defeating Obama on the issues will be masked or overshadowed by something that will be labeled as a conspiracy theory and dismissed out of hand as the obsession of unstable nut-jobs. I don't see Obama being "forced" by anyone to show his birth certificate. And if he were? There would be a mad rush to prove whatever he produced was forged. The public's eyes would again glaze over... and Obama will skate again.
Snopes should change its name to The Official Truth.

“Wikipedia” doesn’t DO anything..the users do.
I don't think anybody has any goods on Obama's birth or surely that card would have been played. If I'm wrong, how bad do things have to get before someone comes forward with evidence that a crime has been committed? If this Corsi you cite has something, I for one for one would be pretty annoyed that he held off coming forward for what reason? To build his readership?

To provoke a vast cover-up and destroy the reputation of those who signed onto the conspiracy? If I had prima facie evidence that Obama was born in Kenya, for instance, I would play it the same way.
It does seem unlikely that they had solid evidence that Obama was not a natural born citizen prior to the election or I would think they'd have publicized it. So, if they do have something, it's probably some detail that doesn't rise to obvious ineligibility.
All of this is just conjecture on my part. I just know that I wouldn't be pushing the matter like WND is doing unless I had an ace in the hole.

The birth certificate is now a very damaging joke on Obama. The more laughs there are over the Obama’s birth certificate, the more he is delegitimized. Obama is now the joke. What a wonderful Saul Alinsky opportunity to destroy Obama!
I have not seen any articles on the MSM making jokes about the “birthers”. The reason is, I believe, is that if they do start doing this, it will draw attention to the hundreds of thousands of dollars that Obama has spent to hide a $15 document. The American people will not find that funny.
As for the attorneys who are suing, this is a **great** practice builder for them! There is no way that they could pay for the exposure they are getting from all the **free** publicity. And...For them it is a hobby.
Saul Alinsky teaches that we should make it personal. Ridicule our enemy. Have fun, and do what we like. The birth certificate is a **wonderful** opportunity to do all of these, and....for the most part, it is almost FREE!

Can’t say as how he’s expending much of anything. The press doesn’t care. The lawsuits haven’t amounted to anything. And the money he sends to his lawyers, I imagine, isn’t his anyway.
