The announced goal, which President Obama has signed on to, is to keep the earth's average temperature from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius (or 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit). That should not be a problem. Nope not a problem, it just takes massive wealth redistribution and the work of God to make it happen.
The latter being 100% effective to the 0% of the former.

When they call this guy Zero, it's for good cause. That's how much of the U.S. we remember will be left by the time he's done.
The following is directed to Freepers who haven't donated or signed up for monthlies yet...

is good. 100% is better. You know you're going to do it. Pull the trigger! You don't have to pay it all now. $5 now, $25 next week, $10 later... keep the ball rolling.
Monthly donorship is a good way for us to avoid having to do the Freepathons. Besides, it's a great way to pony up in style.
If you're on the verge of becoming a monthly donor or you think you would like to up your monthly donation a bit, has Jim got a deal for you.
Check this out. There's an added incentive for a limited time only. (Always wanted to type that...)
Thanks to Freepers who have been frequenting the Freepathon thread to ham it up with folks over there. It helps to raise the visibility of the Freepathon.
Jump into the Monthly Donorship special thread too.

“””China and India quite sensibly are refusing to participate in this nonsense. “Without participation from China and India, anything we do here at home would impose burdensome costs on consumers in the form of higher electricity, gas and food prices, all for no climate gain,” says Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe.”””
Though I did hear on Fox Business News this afternoon that China had agreed to a CO2 reduction by 2050.
Whoopee doo!!!!
In 40 years China will control the manufacturing of all products and the rest of the world will be servants to the Chinese.
How much more stupid can Obama and the Europeans get?

These G-8 clowns really think they can play God. I do hope He is not offended. What a pile of shit these people have become. Bunch of lawyers playing scientist and not being held accountable if the whole economy collapses because of their arrogant assumptions.
We, as the human race, do not deserve better for having elected them.

It’s always a win to agree to prevent something that isn’t going to happen.
We should also have a national goal to prevent a Martian takeover by 2050.
Then they’ll have achieved 2 goals.
Isn’t this fun and effective?

While the warm-mongers tout 1998 as a record warm year, no year since has been as warm as the earth has, in fact, cooled during an unusually quiet solar cycle.
Advocacy of human-induced climate change needs to be reclassified as hate speech.

Jim Hansen is righteously incensed, he wants nothing less than a carbon/fee rebate plan levied at the mine shaft or the wellhead on all the energy producers at the revenue end and a refund to all consumers using a means-tested formula where the least productive receive the greatest reward at the other end.
Nothing else will work, he says and the current agreement and the half-passed energy bill in the Senate is just another version of corporate welfare, in his lights.
Can there be any better illustration of the true motives behind this high priest of the movement?
Canute was a fictional character dealing with a fictional scenario — this is real and it is now; our options as unwilling financers of either propostion is to just bleed out quickly or to allow a slow exsanguination, one withdrawal at a time.
