I had to excerpt. It's worth reading the whole article. It has lots of links and pictures.

I couldn't fit the whole title into the alloted space. I am posting it here in order to maximize the amount of material I can excerpt.

Gee. Couldn't they at least use an SE/30?

In any event, I hope they maxed out the RAM to 4MB!

Here's a link to the Moonviews website. They have news updates and images from LOIRP. Be careful some of the image files are extremely large (ie over 1 GB).

Thanks for posting this article.

And I did go and read it in it’s entirety.

It was really worth spending the time to read all 5 pages.

Everyone should.

Too bad they lost all the original video. Only a government agency could be so incompetent that they’d lose the only hi-quality video of one of the most important moments in human history.

Yup, I remember seeing some of those pics when I worked at NASA. Worked nights for a while on the computers and the pics were on some of the desks of the engineers.

Of course I was just snooping around.

I could have sworn I recently saw an article saying the tapes recorded at Perth of the Apollo 11 landing were found. So, I just went looking after not finding it on FR.

Article saying Apollo 11 tapes have been found?

Supposedly the long tapes of the high resolution slow scan video recordings of the Apollo 11 moon walk have been found in Australia.

NASA Holds Briefing to Release Restored Apollo 11 Moonwalk Video

http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewpr.html?pid=28712

These aren’t from the lost telemetry tapes but from the the scan converted broadcast signal at NASA. Still apparently they are from the best available copy prior to the telemtry tapes being found.
