Lovely, more “reach-across-the-aisle-for-the-sake-of-bipartisanship” BS!

We see more negative stuff about Sarah Palin every day. But we know that if the liberals are afraid of her, then SHE IS EXACTLY WHO WE NEED IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!

The fact that the GOP leadership isn’t backing her is just sickening! I think they’re getting jealous because SARAHPAC is winning all the donations and the tap to the RNC is running dry.

Yeah, let’s blame Palin. Forget that McCain acted like a buffoon in the campaign. Palin brought so many more votes to McCain than she cost him. The only way the GOP is going to win is to have a CREDIBLE small-government candidate. Palin is the only one I know of.

we are afraid that if she did so she would lead the party to a 1964-style debacle, accompanied by unnecessary losses down the ballot.

As opposed to say ... another RINO ... we did so well with that strategy in 2008, didn't we David?

No national candidacy has ever collapsed so rapidly and totally as Sarah Palin's in 2008. The evidence is strong that she is the only vice presidential nominee in history to have had a significant impact on voting preferences -- and negatively so. Since voting day, she has only continued to lose ground... …..

Yet, she has continued to draw record crowds. Still commands intense media scrutiny. "...Only continues to lose ground"??? Appears her Alaskan and national polls still remain very high. Since her 3 Jul 2009 announcement, the media/talk radio/internet has been in a frenzy opining her future plans.

There is no doubt the McCain would have lost by a far greater margin if Gov Palin was not on the ticket. She energized the conservative movement, as she continues to this day.

Goofy, stupid analysis.

He blames McCain's loss on Palin, he even refers to it as "Sarah Palin's campaign!" More people would have voted for the Sarah Palin campaign, if it wasn't for the milquetoast appeasing liberal deadwood at the top of the ticket.

And he "fears" that Palin will damage the Republican "brand"! Hey Fruitcake, the GOP brand is currently as marketable as liver flavored ice cream.

Douchebags like Frum won't admit it, but they prefer the Republican brand to be the leftwing's other white meat.

“...afraid that Palin’s distinctive combination of sex appeal, self-pity, and cultural resentment...”

Sex appeal. I get it. Boy do I get it.

Self-pity? Whaaat!? Self-reliance is more like it. It’s not just that I disagree. I can’t even see where this one comes from. She seems like one of the least self-pitying women to whom I have been exposed. I think OTHERS may experience self-pity when they compare themselves to her. Is that what he meant?

Cultural resentment? Again, what’s that mean? Probably just that she is a happily married woman and self-identified Christian and some people RESENT HER for it.

David Frum wants the Republican party to drop it`s family values platform, that`s what this is all about. I have heard him say this, he is pro choice/pro abortion (no difference btw), and pro gay.

He does not care that when/if Republicans ever do this, they will lose the Christian/social Conservatives. Maybe that`s it, he just wants the social Conservatives to go away?

The worst thing the media can do to Sarah right now is to stop talking about her. They just can't help themselves. They hate her so much, they just can't stop talking about her. This helps her because she stays relevant and many people support her because the media has been so unfair to her.

They think they've won but the more they attack her the stronger she looks.

From the text.

We are afraid that even if Palin does not win the nomination, that she will still help brand the Republican Party in a very damaging way.

Frum continues in what may be a downright piece of nonsense. For Governor Palin energized the campaign. With all respect to Senator McCain, he looked absolutely beaten, he looked desperate, desperate to get out of the whole thing.

Strangely enough if one consults Wikipedia, Frum had worked with the Bush White House. He had backed the Iraq invasion. He had said George Bush turned out to be the right man at the time. Now old David became a naturalised American citizen in 2007. Supposedly a real conservative.

Hard to figure out. The National Post originally was a beacon of light in a liberal newspaper world. Conrad Black gave it up. A respected liberal family took it over. Many pious statements about non-interference. As a subscriber, I have noticed a drift to the left. Scads of the "beautiful people" in the centre page on a Saturday. Beaming and grinning and the women showing a bit of flesh. Most of 'em lefties, I will be bound.

One wonders what happened to David? Has he fallen to the leftist worship of the classic willowy blond liberal women? Like the lady that partied in a night club following her defection from the Tories, hot stuff Belinda. I wonder what ails the man.

He has viewed a real woman possibly and it is HE who is intimidated. Pity is, that he does not need to be.
