a white man...broke into his mother and his uncle’s home...Snyder said both residents are in their 80s and his uncle is wheelchair bound.

I realize the uncle is probably also white; and I'm really glad the resident was not willing to let himself be a victim, even if he is old and disabled. He probably was a Marine. That said, this is the first thing that popped into my mind:
