60 Minutes recently did a segment on Resveratrol which is supposed to do the same thing as claimed for Rapamycin here. How about a little cross referencing in these articles & segments in the future?

Similar effects were found in rats given metformin, a widely prescribed blood glucose control drug.

And here’s a study that suggests that the mechainsm of action of metformin may be the same or similat to rapamycin:
