I think the reality is sinking in. His national numbers are still ok (mid-fifties), but in purple states he is in really bad shape. The other poll showed him under 50% in Ohio.
Dem congresscritters from these states are no doubt aware of this, and will try to distance them of Obama.
I can’t see economy (=employment) rebounding in a significant way before mid-term elections so Obama is poison to dem candidates in Ohio, Virginia and other purple/red states. If this continue like this, I can see massive gains for GOP.

I wonder how he’ll try to pull out of this. An economic recovery might help and inflation might not hurt if he can distract the already distracted populace away from his real agenda. I guess events could reverse things for him the way a crisis like 9/11 did, but that can only go so far if he’s a dedicated Carterite.
