A widespread and unusually resilient computer attack that began July 4 knocked out the Web sites of several government agencies, including some that are responsible for fighting cyber crime, The Associated Press has learned.
The Treasury Department, Secret Service, Federal Trade Commission and Transportation Department Web sites were all down at varying points over the holiday weekend and into this week, according to officials inside and outside the government. Some of the sites were still experiencing problems Tuesday evening. Cyber attacks on South Korea government and private sites also may be linked, officials there said.
U.S. officials refused to publicly discuss any details of the cyber attack, and would only generally acknowledge that it occurred. It was not clear whether other government sites also were attacked.

Geesh, Don’t we have a CZAR that’s suppose to be handling this???
~~~PING!
They know exactly where these “attacks” are coming from. The Internet is not a big black hole.
Don’t be too worried. They can be removed from the Internet easily if the government wants to.
I know what you mean Star.
I pray you’re right. God bless us all.
Why don’t they do something useful, and target the credit reporting agencies.
if the government wants to.
Most botnets have to be blocked.
The FTC and DOT are very much involved in the move toward global government. Maybe this isn’t a bad thing?
US companies still host terrorist websites
Snippets: ......I showcased how other Texas web hosting companies were enabling Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad branches, and many other terrorist groups to get out their messages of violent incitement over the Internet. I found sites with American hosting companies that openly aimed to physically destroy America, commit terrorist acts against Americans wherever they can be found, and kill as many American soldiers as possible abroad.
The botnets have to get instructions from somewhere, that somewhere has to be known, even if it is a long list of “somewheres”. The botnet code can be disassembled and external logs show all the traffic in and out. So I doubt there is much mystery as to the source given a little time to track it down. The usual problem is the source is deep within a country that we have no jurisdiction in.
The attack you see can be fixed. The open door that they know about and you don’t is the one that will cause you problems.
My internet connection has been up and down all day, and I can’t find anything wrong with my computer....maybe it’s related to this, ——or MJ.
My ‘puter and others have been noticeably slower in the last couple of weeks, it seems.
Conflicker worm infested zombie computers being put to use in a cyber-warfare botnet attack?
Bookmarked
Hmmm..... It’s Honduras ! That’s all Barry needs. We attack at dawn ! /s
