A day before New York Rep. Peter King called Michael Jackson a pervert unworthy of nonstop media coverage, the aunt of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan on the same day Jackson died asked why her nephew's death went virtually unnoticed while the King of Pop got memorial shrines across the country.
"Mr. Jackson received days of wall-to-wall coverage in the media," Martha Gillis wrote to the Washington Post. "Where was the coverage of my nephew or the other soldiers who died that week?"
Gillis' nephew, Lt. Brian Bradshaw, 24, died in Kheyl, Afganistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Bradshaw, of Steilacoom, Wash., was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division in Fort Richardson, Alaska. He was one of at least 13 U.S. soldiers to die in Afghanistan since Jackson's death on June 25.

Prayer for the family and friends of Lt. Brian Bradshaw.
Sorry for their loss,
Are the other 12 families commenting?
Rest assured those in the U.S. that do pay attention to what matters noticed. They also offered prayers for both the Soldier and his family.
Please don't confuse the so-called mass media as important, it's not.
Signed

apparently, in hte media- pedophiles are more newsworthy than those who are givign hteir lives for our freedom
What? You mean the AP hasn’t sent their photogs to Dover to shoot the coffins being unloaded from Obama’s war? The Democrats insisted that the Defense Dept. change its policy of privacy for military families, you know.
This is what this country has come to and the media decides what they think we need to watch. I have my tv off right now because I’m not participating in the ratings.
Have the libs counted the military deaths under Obama like they did with Bush? That was such a concern of there’s. Where are they now?
Exactly!
This is Obama’s war now and the media won’t do anything to upset the applecart.
There’s a war? OMG!!!!
One of the soldiers killed on the 4th, his Dad was on twitter posting about his death. It has taken this long to get the official news out.
The media only reveled in the deaths in Iraq when President Bush was in office.
There will be NO coverage of our losses in Afghanistan other than a fleeting mention in between bashing Palin and glorifying wacko-jacko.
Good for them - but on this day of Whacko Jacko veneration, will this even play on Fox??? I think not...too sad, SO bad...
... King called the "day in and day out" coverage of Jackson's death "too politically correct." "Let's knock out the psychobabble," he said in the video, which was taped outside an American Legion Hall in his district. "He was a pervert, a child molester; he was a pedophile. And to be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country?...
I agree that Jackson was perverted and those who are glorifying him deserve our contempt. Those who do not hold our military in the highest esteem deserve our contempt as well.
Heros or zeros, the battle line is drawn. Political correctness is dead.
Too right...
I agree. When accepted that the media has the power to do this to a person, it is incumbent upon the individuals to protect themselves and their country against this madness.
Zeros that the MSM and the Hollywood promotional machine have propelled to Godlike status.
The Country and the World are in the toilet and will be taught a serious lesson for what is being perpetrated in the name of ‘Art’ and ‘Culture’. I for one cannot wait for it to begin.
