Hey, this should be simple. All Obama needs to do is just give the approval. Oooooorrrrr, will he spend another $1M to keep anyone from getting information from the hospital.

OK...sounds like a simple phone call from the anointed one, and the whole BC issue could be put to rest.

I’m not holding my breath, though.

It’s time to take back the country.

"Our comment to everyone who has been calling is that federal law does not permit us to provide any more details concerning information [about Obama's birth] without authorization from Mr. Obama," Watanabe told WND.

This Watanabe creature wouldn't be so limited if the office holder in question was a Republican.

“..confirm or deny the veracity of Obama’s letter claiming he was born at the hospital.”

.
“Confirm or deny..” — that the crux of the matter.

This has gone beyond absurd.

How many other U.S. Presidents have felt compelled to post letters of adoration on the hospital web sites where they were born?

The Hospital does not need his approval to say he wasn’t born there. If there is no record, there is no privacy to protect.

Well thats what the HIPPA laws say

From the article:
wrote Roz Makuala, manager of constituent services in the governor’s office, in a e-mail in response to WND’s request for information Oct. 24.

Those listed as entitled to obtain a copy of an original birth certificate included the person born, or “registrant” according to the legal description from the governor’s office, the spouse or parent of the registrant, a descendant of the registrant, a person having a common ancestor with the registrant, a legal guardian of the registrant or a person or agency acting on behalf of the registrant.

So if a person having a common ancestor with the registrant can request a proper vault copy,
how about half brother living in hut sweet hut?
Ya think an old Katrina single wide would entice him to scratch his mark on a Hawaii request??

With all due respect, that's BS. It's a constitutional issue that affects every US citizen, not a private issue between a public figure and this hospital he claims he was born in.

That's just BS. The "privacy" umbrella was folded the minute BHO claimed to have been born in that hospital. If was telling the truth, no new information would be revealed by confirming it. If he wasn't, the actual place of his birth would still not be revealed.

But with the Chicago Mob in charge in DC, I can't say as I blame the hospital for the CYA move.

http://hawaii.gov/health/vital-records/vital-records/elig_vrcc.html

Who is Eligible to Apply for Certified Copies of Vital Records?

A certified copy of a vital record (birth, death, marriage, or divorce certificate) is issued only to an applicant who has a direct and tangible interest in the record. The following persons are considered to have such an interest:

the registrant (the person whom the record is concerned with);
the registrant’s spouse;
the registrant’s parent(s);
a descendant of the registrant (e.g., a child or grandchild);
a person having a common ancestor with the registrant (e.g., a sibling, grandparent, aunt/uncle, or cousin);
a legal guardian of the registrant;
a person or agency acting on behalf of the registrant;
a personal representative of the registrant’s estate;
a person whose right to obtain a copy of the record is established by an order of a court of competent jurisdiction;
adoptive parents who have filed a petition for adoption and need to determine the death of one or more of the prospective adopted child’s natural or legal parents;
a person who needs to determine the marital status of a former spouse in order to determine the payment of alimony;
a person who needs to determine the death of a nonrelated co-owner of property purchased under a joint tenancy agreement; and
a person who needs a death certificate for the determination of payments under a credit insurance policy.
If you are not able to establish a direct and tangible interest in the record, you are ineligible and will not be issued a certified copy of the record.

Upon request, a letter of verification attesting to the existence of a requested record on file with the Department of Health may be issued. Instructions for applying for letters of verification are included in the next section and immediately follow the set of instructions on applying for certified copies. The same eligibility requirements apply for both ceritified copies and verification letters.

A search of the records on file with the Department of Health will only be conducted to process an application requesting either a certified copy or a letter of verification. If the search establishes that the requested record is not on file, you will be notified that no record has been found. No searches of the records on file with the Department of Health will be conducted prior to or outside of the receipt of an application and payment of fees.

Some one enlighten me,if his mother was a natural born American citizen then if he was born in Hawaii or Kenya it doesn't matter as a child of a citizen he's American right?
Example American lady married to a German citizen child born in Great Britain child still considered American citizen correct? (plus what ever status conferred by German & British law.)

What is so disturbing about the whole affair is that Freepers are more concerned about and interested in Obama’s birth records than members of Congress are. It only shows what gutless individuals we have elected as our representatives.

It is the legislative body of our government who should DEMAND a resolution of his identity.

Headline?

Hawaii braces for flood of "delayed birth filings"
Hundreds Expected To Name Hawaii As Birth Place
"Obama precedent. I need COLB, make president," said one prospective registrant through an interpreter. [End]

I wasn't born in a hospital. My long-form certificate is stamped Delayed but it's signed by a doctor and was properly registered before I was one year old (Kentucky).

In Hawaii

"If a child born in Hawaii, for whom no physician or mid wife filed a certificate of live birth, and for whom no Delayed Certificate was filed before the first birthday, then a Certificate of Hawaiian Birth could be issued upon testimony of an adult including the subject person) if the Lieutenant Governor was satisfied that a person was born in Hawaii, provided that the person had attained the age of one year. . . ." [End]

Who's going to know? I'm almost 70 and I was born in Hawaii, I swear. :)
