States that dare to vote against Obama must be punished. Using government to "redistribute" wealth predates Obama, but that seems to be becoming its primary role.

It’s going to be a cold day at Algore’s house before I ever buy a GM or Chrysler product again.

Yes. And just wait until they consolidate their power in the Banks/Insurance Companies, the health care Sector, Energy, etc. and you can see that we have barely begun the process of Gov’t intervention in our personal and financial lives.
Amazing to me that so few see the real implications of what is underway.

So find some way for the state to take the Spring Hill plant by emminent domain and sell it to someone who wants to make cars without the UAW and the federal government.

Good to see that GM has learned from its struggles. Wait, what?

Quality Automobiles has nothing to do with it. They got their payoff and to hell with getting back in the quality automotive business.
Hopefully some serious automakers will move to them areas and take advantage of good craftsmanship and a solid work ethic.(try finding that in a Union shop)

Obama told them to pick Michigan. End of story. Hard to do as WI Gov Doyle is like a tapeworm up Obama’s butt. Granholm is a prettier liberal face.

I have an '05 Toyota and my wife has an '05 Trail Blazer, both bought new. When we are ready for a new vehicle we will most likely replace her's but it won't be another Trail Blazer or any other government vehicle.
I'm thinking either a Toyota truck or an F-150 and I don't care how many "inducements" or "rebates" the government offers to buy one of their pieces of junk.
To: reaganaut1
but said the process was free of political meddling. Of course there wasn't. Since the government owns the company, it wasn't meddling, it was just a command.

...So Tennessee's three top officials were astonished last month, in a meeting with GM, when they were told the first two criteria were "community impact" and "carbon footprint" -- or how the choice would affect unemployment rates and carbon-dioxide emissions. OK, so now we know who is calling the shots at the new GM, the US Democratic party hand picked politically correct Tzars.
Heaven help our economy. Lord hear my prayer.

when they were told the first two criteria were "community impact" and "carbon footprint" -- or how the choice would affect unemployment rates and carbon-dioxide emissions. "Those didn't strike us as business criteria at all," They are when the "business" is Government Motors. After all the purpose of the business has just changed from making money for the shareholders, to keeping the "Senior Management" in power, not just over the "business", that was true before, but over the nation.

More likely Corker was targeted because of his behavior at the auto show...his comments were not appreicated by GM or any other American manufacturer.
