I have often wondered about that windfall profits tax and handouts from the oil industry to Alaskans. As much as I like Sarah as a person, she does seem a bit like GWB on economic issues.

Remember how she said helping the disabled was part of her plan? How we need to help those “special people”? Just how so? Unless the help comes in the form of an across-the-board tax cut that makes life easier for all, then what does she mean? more gov’t programs?

I think the article makes some good points, and I’m a Sarah fan.

"Her outsized approval ratings reflected..."

Hit the buzzer for incorrect statement, the writer gets an "F". Palin's approval ratings are still through the roof.

The beltway snobs will always hang together. Palin is a threat to them and they hate her. It also gives you an inkling of how they feel about the rest of us “outsiders”.

More mindless paper stuck to the Walls of the Echo Chamber. Her options are all open now. The people understand what the pundiots haven’t a clue.

Pray for America and Gov Palin

If the culture war really is ending …

Where does he get this? It is just getting started.

Seems like a very superficial and unserious perspective on Palin.

Great example of PDS.

I find it hilarious when libs try to translate conservative acts into liberalism.

The so called windfall profit tax was somewhat different than the federal windfall tax the author attempts to deceive readers about.

The Federal tax went to guess who— yeah the Federal Government— not US citizens.

The Alaska program gave the bounty of the states mineral resources to the citizens of the state. Such tactics work to limit government rather than fatten it.

The author of this article is the standard journalistic deceiver.

Just a thought. Is it possible that a former political figure, once out of office, might be freed to file lawsuits against a major TV network and late night show host on behalf of a minor?

A web site indicates that Palin's attorney is warning news media of other potential legal actions.

Everybody thinks he or she can read Sarah Palin’s mind and has her all figured out.

She’s unconventional. She’s a mavericky kind of woman.

NOW, she can sue the undies off of her attackers when they cross the line. Now she can earn the money she needs to pay off the Half a Million Dollars in personal expenses for those frivelous lawsuits.

Now she can put on the gloves and she doesn’t have to pull any punches.

Sarah Palin . . . 2012 and beyond.

This ink-stained rent-boy is vomiting up the contempt his masters want to see out in the open toward Palin, but won't sully their own ladles with. So they rent out.

The greasy innuendo is borrowed from the Demotrog site in Alaska put up by one of the self-proclaimed "ankle-biters". The rest is just uninteresting rhetoric. Yes, yes, we know what we're supposed to think about Palin, so Lord Mitt can lead us all. (Screw Mitt.)

Guys like this hold conservatives in as much contempt as they do her.

Not many governors achieve their top five goals within two years.

She’s not perfect but that isn’t what they don’t like about her. What they don’t like is that she is socially conservative, and not at all apologetic about it. So am I. I figure they like me about as much as they like her, and they are convinced that the party will be better if she, and folks like me, would just sit down and shut up.

But please show up to vote.

The writer seems on target in a few areas

Sara grew State Gov’t by 38% in her first year

Sara raised taxes on the oil companies to level higher than Hugo Chavez jacked his oil taxes

Sara pushed for and approved more welfare spending.

Sara announced a State hiring ‘freeze’ then apposed all but 2 (two) hiring (almost 400 new hires, some freeze, eh?)

Sara went out of her way to piss off the (R) party

Sara went out of her way to piss off the Unions (these last two may be offsets, not sure)

She appointed long time family friends & buddies and chums to important State positions - which any Gov can do under the law, no fuss there. Unfortunately they were, for the most part, duds.

Finally, she sat on a budget that gave us a Billion dollar deficit.

On the plus side
She has championed resource development - and in one lone case, we got a new gold mine, no thanks to any support from the State Gov’t.

Sara has talked up Pro-life issues - but has done zip to push anything thru either house

Sara has pushed for wildlife management, and done a good job on ensuring resources were there to do the job. The whole wolf kill thing didn't sell too well in the L48 - but up here nobody cares about L48 opinions anyway.

Sara fired her Trooper ‘security detail’ and let it be known both she and Todd packed heat. Very well received here.

Sara did get a lot of attention to Alaska wild places and products - and we did see a small increase in exports.

Lets see

Oh and she gave away a half billion dollars to a foreign corporation that - to date - has pretty much done nothing more than try and mooch more dough from State and FedGov agencies.

Sarah Palin - nice person, super mom, someone I would love to have as a neighbor.

saraH the politician - not for me.

I’ve seen this clown on Bill Maher’s show. Instead of standing up for conservatives, the little weasel likes to lambast conservatives to get a few cheers from the audience. Not my kind of conservative warrior...

Interesting analysis, with a bottom line the GOP needs to look at long and hard:
But the Obama presidency is helping conservatives rediscover their roots as the defenders of an open, dynamic, entrepreneurial economy. Though the GOP will always be the more socially conservative party, one gets the impression that the culture war is fading. Younger voters are by no means monolithically liberal on cultural issues. Yet they don't seem inclined to vote on those issues. And so a figure like Palin, who seemed so promising at first, offers them nothing.
