Zelaya's Plane Redirected to El Salvador
Wall Street Journal ^ | 7/5/09 | JOSE DE CORDOBA

Posted on 07/05/2009 2:46:58 PM PDT by jimbo123

In a high-stakes move to reclaim his post, ousted Honduran president Manuel Zelaya tried to fly to this Central American nation on Sunday. The provisional government said it would turn the aircraft away, even as it signaled a new willingness to negotiate a solution to the region's biggest political crisis in years.

Honduras' civil aviation director said Mr. Zelaya's plane was being redirected to El Salvador.

Mr. Zelaya, a leftist kicked out by Honduras' army last week in his nightshirt, departed from Washington to Tegucigalpa on an aircraft believed to belong to Venezuela's government. He was accompanies by the U.N. General Assembly president, Miguel D'Escoto. Also along for the ride was Argentine President Cristina Kirchner in her official plane and another plane carrying journalists.

I wish Honduras all the luck defending themselves from a wannabe tyrant. I hope Obama doesn’t do what Clinton did in Haiti.

It's your move, Barry!

LOL!

I'm betting Barry is wishing right now that he and his 'RATS hadn't weakened America in the eyes of the world as bad as they did.

I think Barack The Kenyan has given approval for an invasion of Honduras via Nicaragua to reinstate Zelaya.

Guess, he brought along some folks to help him collect his garbage sacks full of money he looted from Honduras.

Kudos to Honduras for defending their Constitution.

Or what Bush 41 did when the Venezuelans tried to throw Chavez out of office in 1992. We did nothing to help the military leaders who had arrested Chavez. They then caved to the Catholic bishop and let the sniveling dictator back into power, foolishly believing his promise to govern as a democratic leader. We have lived to regret our mistake ever since.

So many airborne lefties! Sounds like a target-rich environment. The Honduran AF should declare the country’s airspace an open fire zone.

that's what the 50 mm cannon are for

They have to fire one burst across the bow and let them know the next burst will splash the socialists

It’s simply amazing what type of assistance is given to the dictators of Caribbean narcoeconomies in their time of need.

It is over for today. The plane was turned away. Presumably to land in Managua.
