Yes, the voting majority in 2008 was made up of weaklings, and they voted for a weak man who wants to further weaken us. I would not be surprised if this weak man has given Nicaragua his approval to invade it’s Honduras.

The United States maintains a small presence at a Honduran military base; the two countries conduct joint peacekeeping, counternarcotics, humanitarian, disaster relief, and civic action exercises. U.S. troops conduct and provide logistics support for a variety of bilateral and multilateral exercises—medical, engineering, peacekeeping, counternarcotics, and disaster relief—for the benefit of the Honduran people and their Central American neighbors. U.S. forces—regular, reserve, and National Guard—benefit greatly from these exercises.

I am so afraid to even think what the outcome will be if obama orders our small force in Honduras to disregard the incursion by Nicaragua.

Will it be the first mutiny by our Armed Forces?

Courtesy ping to TQC...how much you wanna bet that the pattern contained in the three links above repeats itself in Honduras??? May I suggest reading these links closely as I think they will provide a springboard for a number of articles of the coming US sellout of Honduras.

You said — Will it be the first mutiny by our Armed Forces?

I think if there is anything about this whole Honduras situation that is *more certain* than anything else — it’s that if our military is ordered to do some things, militarily, by the President, they will be doing it..., regardless of the political atmosphere involved in Honduras, or the U.S. or in South America or elsewhere...

I was told this last week by friends who live in Honduras. I think I reported it on a thread about the Honduran situation.

However, my friends who live in the NW corner of the country (much nearer to Guatemala and El Savador than Nicaragua) couldn’t confirm that it was anything more than a rumor.

The interim government said it had contacted the Organization of American States to express its willingness to enter dialogue. The OAS earlier on Sunday suspended Honduras for refusing to reinstate Zelaya.

I hope that isn't true. There is nothing for them to discuss with that collection of Bolivarian vipers. The OAS has contravened its own charter by meddling in Honduran affairs.

From the Charter of the Organization of American States

Article 13

The political existence of the State is independent of recognition by other States. Even before being recognized, the State has the right to defend its integrity and independence, to provide for its preservation and prosperity, and consequently to organize itself as it sees fit, to legislate concerning its interests, to administer its services, and to determine the jurisdiction and competence of its courts. The exercise of these rights is limited only by the exercise of the rights of other States in accordance with international law.

Article 19

No State or group of States has the right to intervene, directly or indirectly, for any reason whatever, in the internal or external affairs of any other State. The foregoing principle prohibits not only armed force but also any other form of interference or attempted threat against the personality of the State or against its political, economic, and cultural elements.

Article 20

No State may use or encourage the use of coercive measures of an economic or political character in order to force the sovereign will of another State and obtain from it advantages of any kind.

Article 21

The territory of a State is inviolable; it may not be the object, even temporarily, of military occupation or of other measures of force taken by another State, directly or indirectly, on any grounds whatever. No territorial acquisitions or special advantages obtained either by force or by other means of coercion shall be recognized.

Article 22

The American States bind themselves in their international relations not to have recourse to the use of force, except in the case of selfdefense in accordance with existing treaties or in fulfillment thereof.

The OAS voted to admit Cuba one month ago. There is a plane following Zelaya carrying several Latin American presidents. Assuming this includes Ortega and Chavez, Hondurus would be doing the world a great favor by shooting it down.

I believe we have a mutual defense treaty with Honduras, duly ratified by congress, that predates the leftists Obama and Zelaya by many years.

But men who ignore the Constitution of their own countries cannot be relied upon to enforce treaties that hamper their socialist agendas.

Unbelievable. Six months into this idiot progresso's presidency and we already have US forces trapped in what may become hostile territory. What a fool. Obama is placing the life's of all US personnel in Honduras in jeopardy. They will be threatened by an invasion from Nicaragua and later by the people of Honduras when they realize that the US under Obama and the Progresso's has now become the enemy of freedom.

before anyone else had an inkling of who would scare Oliver North so much he let them know..Osama Bin Ladin

I bet if they ask him that question today it would be barack hussein obama.

Let me pose a question, If a treaty was signed by a former President and the Congress of the United States ratified that treaty, setting forth certain safeguarding provisions
to be enjoyed by the signator of that treaty.

Can this current President on his own directive constitutionally void that treaty?

If not constitutionally possible to do so, who do the Armed forces who swore to uphold the constitution, obey?

He cannot void the treaty — he is supposed to have no power to do so. Our Chairman of the Joint Chiefs needs to be prepared to tell him that the military will honor the treaties of the US and Gates, the Obama lover now it seems, better be ready to back him up.

If he doesn’t listen, then they both need to resign immediately and go public.
