WASHINGTON – The White House is getting ready for the big holiday barbecue and fireworks show at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama returned from Camp David in time to host the Independence Day celebration. The Obamas have invited about 1,200 military families for the festivities Saturday night.

On the FoxNews segment featuring Obama’s remarks his mike remained open after his brief and IMO detached remarks, he spoke to his daughter informing her they were to remain while the songs of each of the four armed services were played. Apparently he is unaware of the position of the United States Coast Guard.

The latest article on BEHIND THE HEADLINES tells you how Obama’s government lawyers are trying to sabotage Kerchner v Obama, et al. One of the lawyers argued that ... while the 1st Amendment guarantees people the right “...to petition the government for a redress of grievances ... this right to petition does not include a corresponding right to a response.” She continued that people do not have “... a constitutional right to force the government to listen to their views ... the Constitution does not grant to members of the public generally a right to be heard by public bodies making decisions of policy.”
In the view of the US Attorney, the 1st Amendment only allows you to petition the government, but it’s a one sided arrangement that does not require the government to listen ... or respond. We have a serious problem on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue. If nothing else, this article will make you think. And when you do, compare the historic parallels.

Off topic, but can you answer this? A CG helicopter did a fly-by over the NASCAR race at Infineon Raceway. On one side of the chopper the Air Force insignia was plainly visible. Why was it there? What’s the connection between CG and AF?
