Everyone Missed The Point - Palin
Vanity

Posted on 07/04/2009 3:43:13 PM PDT by RED SOUTH

Sarah Palin is the biggest political star in the nation. Need proof , just look at the events this weekend. There is not a single political or news person or outlet that is not talking about what the Governor did yesterday. The funniest thing is , everyone is trying to guess why she resigned even though she clearly stated why. She can no longer govern Alaska because she spends everyday of her time and all kinds of money fighting false ethic charges. She has become a lightning rod for the media and the people of Alaska are better off with a Governor who can govern. Does not make sense to the eastern establishment but people who have to live in this sorry state those in the establishement have created in this country , understand. Don't give credit to the other Governor's for staying the course. No other Governor , not Pawlenty or Daniels or even Barbour have to put up with the daily distraction of media attacks and false ethic charges. They can Govern. As she said , she passed the ball so Alaska can get back to normal. She has not quit , according to all those close to her , she plans to carry the fight on into the 2010 congressional races. Anyone is sadly mistaken if they say the "quitter" is finished in Presidential politics. Not even Dear Leader , the chosen one , Barry Soetoro AKA Obama can muster even close to the kind of coverage Palin is getting right now. Sure , the media is his lover but Palin is getting the volume. And just wait until the book and the book tour to follow and the crazy crowds she will gather on the road for the 2010 congressional elections and the buzz from the canidates she will help elect. Remember the runoff in Ga last fall. The republican was supposed to lose but he won. Every republican President wannabe campaigned for him. He said Palin was the one who put him over the top. As President Barry Soetoro AKA Obama continues to run the country off the cliff , do you really want to turn to Romney. Do you trust him? How about Huck. Do you want to try your luck with Gingrich. I don't know about you but I don't see Gov Barbour as our nominee. I don't see Timmy boy from Minnasota taking on Dear Leader , he reminds me to much of John Edwards the Breck girl. Besides , if you had told me 4 years ago a black guy with big muslim ties with no accomplishments would turn a speech into a succesful run for the Presidency , before his first Senate term was up , I would have laughed myself to death. Point is , in politics anything is possible. A day is forever. Next month noone is going to care Sarah Palin resigned as Governor but she will still be a star and the media will still be following her and we will still be talking about her. Maybe she will run for President , maybe she won't. But if she wants to run , I bet she will be a force.

You got that right. She tells everyone why she is doing it, and then the talking heads get together to figure out why she is doing it. As dumb as when they figured out planes have co-pilots a few weeks back.

parsy, who thinks some people just need to talk all the time.

She can and will serve America and Alaska more effectively outside of the AK government. She is freeing herself from the obstructionism that is keeping her back from using her energy and talent to the full extent.

THAT is the reason. And her latest statements at Facebook make clear that she is aspiring to be part of a grassroots campaign to recapture America from the socialist yoke.

She could, very easily, be a “majorty maker” in the next Congress.
So many races are decided by such a slim margin, with Sarah pushing for good candidates, she will make a HUGE difference!

Finally a thread where the truth about Sarah quitting is accurate. On most of the other threads, some are trying to tell me that she quit to run for president, yet, she has not said that anywhere that I can find. She said she was quitting because of the reasons you give here. If you want to flame me for using the words quit and quitting, I'm not a virgin in that area. I've been put down several times today for using that word. Well, what else would I call it? She is leaving before her term is up. To me, that's quitting. Well, here goes another can of worms.

Agreed. The liberals “thrill” up their leg over her exit may turn into a snakebite after she facilitates the conservative takeover of both congressional houses in 2010. Afterwards, she will have alot of congressional supporters to propel her into the White House in 2012.

I have noticed that 95% of the talking heads on FNC think this was a big mistake. They also don't understand why she made the announcement on a holiday weekend!

I understand exactly why she did it and why she announced when she did. Friday afternoon of a three day holiday? Well she had absolutely no competition from the continuous TV infomercial that is the Obambi Administration. No Pelosi. No Reid. Just confused talking heads! She liberated herself on July 4th weekend!

There’s no doubt in my mind that if she wants to run for prez, she WILL be the Republican nominee. The governorship in Alaska is irrelevant to the job of getting the nomination. And the fact that she resigned early will later be seen as a net-plus for the Repubs up there, as it gave their Lt. Gov. an incumbent platform from which to run.

What I DO doubt, however, is that she has decided to run for prez in 2012. I think she now better understands than anyone what a toll it will take on her children, who will be trashed and villified along with herself and her husband. I don’t know if she is willing to put everyone through it. If it was just her, my gut tells me she would not only run but run HARD and win. But putting others through it...

In any case, God bless Sarah Palin and her family. They are PURE CLASS through and through.

Dick Morris is worth listening to, but he is not always right, here is his take:

http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/dick_morris_sarah_palin/2009/07/03/231817.html?s=al&promo_code=82BC-1

I think he is wrong. I think Sarah would have trouble changing the stupid “ethics laws” in Alaska, as long as she remained Governor.

I think that the chance that Sarah could run WITHOUT a bogus “ethics charge” hanging over her, was nonexistent, and the MSM would lend credibility to even the nuttiest “ethics” charge.

This way, all of those charges can be dealt with, long before Sarah is ever on the ballot again, and it will help to make her detractors look petty and foolish.

She also can now be the “leader” of the Republican Party that the left keeps telling us we don't have!

Sarah will have DOZENS of elected officials who will owe their very careers to Sarah Palin, and this will help her a great deal, no matter what she decides!

“I think Mrs. Palin has seriously damaged her chances”

I agree to point, but would go even further to say that she never had a chance. The media has her branded as a weirdo. I actually agree though that she is kind of strange. Her “Fargo” folksy antics really do not help her with over 50% of the people in this country. I know that there are a lot of “Palin is a rock star and I want her to have my baby” people on Free-Republic, but I think that this is a great thing to happen to the Republican party. She will disappear for awhile after this dies down and we can concentrate on getting our message out to the people who elected the Messiah. Palin needs to tend to her family right now. No doubt, they have been savaged by the media and there is probably a lot of hurt that needs to be nursed.

According as circumstances are favorable,
one should modify one’s plans.

All warfare is based on deception.

Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable;
when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we
are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away;
when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder,
and crush him.

If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him.
If he is in superior strength, evade him.

If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to
irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.

If he is taking his ease, give him no rest.
If his forces are united, separate them.

Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where
you are not expected.

These military devices, leading to victory,
must not be divulged beforehand.

Now the general who wins a battle makes many
calculations in his temple ere the battle is fought.
The general who loses a battle makes but few
calculations beforehand. Thus do many calculations
lead to victory, and few calculations to defeat:
how much more no calculation at all! It is by attention
to this point that I can foresee who is likely to win or lose.

Sarah Palin has either studied Sun Tzu or just understands it instinctively.

EXACTLY. As Americans (as opposed to liberals) get together to celebrate this country, they will talk about Sara BEFORE seeing the TV news about her...and that can only help her.

Also, and my favorite part, a heck of a lot of reporters just found their mid-summer holiday pre-empted...and now have to fly to Alaska and follow her around, just to find out...NOTHING.

This was a stroke of brilliance!!

Lets see we could support Palin who is what the founding fathers intended to server. That being a normal person.

Or we could support the GOP who has Colin Powell on its board. The man who endorsed BO over the GOP candidate.

GOP leadership is clueless and floundering.
