Simply listen to her words and look into her eyes. That’s where the truth is.

She is not like other politicians.

She is real, she tells the truth, she loves her country and want’s to help it heal..... listen to her words and look into her eyes.

While I liek her as a candidate- I wish she’d reconcider running, as she will be the only remaining candidate, and the press will eat her alive, turnign hte ocutnry against her just like they did this last time- She can’t win with the vehemence in the press towards her, and the GOP will lose hte election again

Get a grip guys.
If she is planning a 2012 run, quiting the governorship does not help her. In fact, it just hands a boat load of ammo to use against her.

That is not the reason she quit. I don't know that is, but I would be surprised if she is even in the news by this time next year.

It seems very unlikely that Sarah is planning to run for President in 2012.

It is too early to think about 2012 and it seems unlikely that she is doing that.

She is quitting the job because she is just tired of it and fed up attacks on her family, her political career is over and that about sums about it.

She could hit the Cable Tv circuit and stay as a commentator but not as a politician.

Somebody tell her to stop saying “progress (the state)or (an agenda),etc.” - it’s poor word selection and its sounds discordant.

It’s worse than Bush saying nuk-u-lar.

OK...I assume some postive speculation/wishful thinking is allowed here, right?

What if it's not yet about 2012, but about 2010? Not running, but leading a new class of GOP candidates to at least take back the house? Something to gain the sort of exposure that Newt got back in 94?

I missed most of this and only heard the breathless MSM report on my radio. But if she intends to "remain visible", I'd think working to help field a better choice of candidates for 2010 would be a good step.

Just guessing/wishing I suppose.

For someone whose greatest liability was her lack of experience, resigning her job as governor after less than three years seems questionable if she has presidential aspirations. Better to have followed in the footsteps of Reagan and Bush and continued her popular and successful governorship until she was ready to start her presidential campaign. Can’t really understand her actions.

I’d love to have Sarah as President, but if does indeed run in 2012, she’s going to be tagged with a “quitter” label which will be hard to shake. I wish she’d gone longer as AK governor, at least for one more year. Absolutely, I’ll support her whatever endeavor she chooses, but I don’t think her actions yesterday helped her if she has aspiration for the White House. I’m crossing my fingers she carefully weighed the options and knows what she’s doing.

Sarah Palin is running for president.

I'm going with my initial gut, which has always said she is running in 2012.

She needs to be in the continental United States now if she wants to build up her credentials for 2012. She needs to speak at political events, support conservative candidates for 2010, learn more about the issues, learn to communicate her message effectively, learn the Washington DC ropes, build a solid campaign foundation and fundraising machine, and most importantly, build public support system that can help get her message out.

She cannot do that stuck in Alaska as governor. No one knows what is happening up there. Alaska is a great state, but the location is still far away to run for higher public office such as president. It is difficult to be known down here as opposed to up in Alaska (or Hawaii as well). Nor can she run effectively constantly fighting these frivolous ethics complaints, which she has won all 15. And she knows the media will do what they can to destroy her. And even the moderate wing of the GOP want her out of the running for 2012.

Of all the options available, this was the most reasonable and effective for her long-term prospects. If she serves out her term, she loses a year and a half trying to campaign in the continental US. If she runs for re-election, she loses even more time.

This was the best move she could make. A bold move. She even admitted she is unconventional.

And why not be unconventional? Political success is replete with the unconventional ending up as the big winners. Margaret Thatcher was labeled unconventional. She went against the mold. She shocked the world and won. LBJ in Texas was called a loser, had no chance, had no money or political support; so he knocked on doors of the common person and did the unconventional--and he won over a powerful incumbent. My point is that the elite Washington establishment, moderate GOPers, pseudo-conservatives, and bloggers that are brushing Sarah Palin off as RIP in 2012 are in for a rude awakening. Far from being politically dead with her announcement, she just went up through the stratosphere with common Americans. We understand her! We feel her! She is one of us! The elites and Palin detractors do not get her popularity and it shows in their irrational coverage and commentary.

Sarah Pain draws in massive crowds. She creates enthusiasim. Can communicate with the common person like no other political figure today. She drives the elites insane. She has unmatched authenticity. She's got the "it" factor is spades. The Left fears her. The media fears her. Obama FEARS her.

And she knows all of this.

She quoted Douglass McArthur by saying, "We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction." This is no mere happenstance quote. McArthur is also known more famously for saying, "I shall return." That is the real veiled message she is sending to the world and supporters.

She is running for president. And I couldn't be happier!

I have read many of the comments here and have my own take on this.
Firstly Sarah did not quit because she was hiding anything or in trouble.
The plain and simple fact of the matter is that she was being attacked left and right by people using the system in 15 separate complaints of ethics violations. It cost them nothing to do this and they were trying to reign her in. It cost her a bundle that she did not have.
She needed to get away from that which was dragging her down on an endless basis and taking her out of the picture while defending herself.

She is a REAL leader with morals which most of us can’t recognize today, which is why her move is not appreciated immediately. She is not motivated by greed or power.

Does she have a chance in 2012 considering that she is not really part of the republican machine? Can she raise enough money to compete with Zero for the WH?
The answer is YES if she so chooses. Read the posts people.
So many of us were disgusted with our “choice” of McCain. Then he himself either trashed or allowed her to be trashed. People are talking about getting out of the GOP.
(Which I highly discourage – I’ll explain)

Can she deal with the Media and will they continue to trash her if she goes after Obama?
YES again. As a matter of fact the MSM may end up being her very best friend and toss zero under the bus.

Now consider this. Zero is upsetting the MSM, it was seen this week by press in the WH when they realized that they were getting second hand treatment when zero put his own people in the press for questions. They got mad, like jilted lovers.
They will have plenty of ammo to use on him when the love affair comes to an end and it will. The worse things get financially, the more debate there is and the more Obama shows them disrespect, the less they will bow to him. It will happen. With Obama’s policies the market will tank. People will be paying more for everything and Americans are getting quite disgruntled it is right there in the polls. The MSM relies on the public to survive. Eventually they will have to follow Fox and start reporting negatively on Obama.
Look how many loyal Freepers just don’t understand what she is doing. Why is that? Because she is not playing a political game. Even we are unaccustomed to seeing that in a politician. The MSM will eventually see it for what it is, though it will take longer.

On the scene is Sarah. She is down to earth and they will re-examine her and with enough pressure they will compare and contrast her to the TOTUS and his wife who are both radicals.

That comparison is what we need. That is exactly why the republicans will fall in behind her. Republicans have been trying to placate to the middle and keep losing. Now they will see that being more conservative will get them what they want. Votes.

We need to maintain our republican ties through registration so that if / when she decides to run we can support her in primaries and battle ACORN in the polls so we don’t get screwed with McCain again who will run.

The Money issue. Well I saw one comment that said “If she runs for POTUS, I will donate serious $$$ to a political candidate for the FIRST time in my 50 yrs. What does that say!” I feel the very same way (47 years).
Palin can beat Obama in the very same way that he beat McCain, grassroots.

Forget the trolls. We need to get our government back to it’s founding principles. People will be and already are fed up with this nonsense of apologies, everyone should be poor, share the wealth and rush it through rubber stamping politics.

Palin is now taking the steps to make the grass roots movement; make some money to campaign without ethics violations, in an honest manner.
Stand behind her, send her an –email and encourage her to remain vigilant to “US” send her a tweet on twitter at AKGovSarahPalin
Follow her and see what she says.

WE are her grassroots .. even if she uses this time to get behind someone else and support them, do it. She can help greatly in 2010. If she hits the primaries herself for 2012, then we know and can support her with all we have.

I apologize for the rant, but make no mistake about it. Today being July 4 we are in for the fight of our lives like none has ever seen since 1776 for our Republic. This war may not be fought with guns, but our new General can be Palin.

“The hour is fast approaching, on which the Honor and Success of this army, and the safety of our bleeding Country depend. Remember officers and Soldiers, that you are Freemen, fighting for the blessings of Liberty - that slavery will be your portion, and that of your posterity, if you do not acquit yourselves like men.” —George Washington, General Orders, August 23, 1776

Palin is by far the Republican Party's biggest draw for fund-raisers and conservative events...

...despite the best efforts of some misguided conservative talk show hosts like Michael Savage and the majority RINO eunuchs that infect Congress.

I like Palin, but my gut feeling is that she’s committing suicide and giving the Dems a chance to take the governor’s office in Alaska’s next election. Unless she picks a real good VP choice, I think her chances of winning in 2012 are a little too low.

Still, Sarah is the freshest of the bunch. We need to dump the has-beens and wanna-be’s who the American public are tired of seeing, like McCain, Romney, Huckabee and the like.
