Uh... read the most recent paper on his site: http://carlineconomics.googlepages.com/CarlinWhy.pdf He's not a "global warming skeptic", he's worried that the effects of AGW may be much worse that current consensus projections, and that the only way to control it will be massive engineering projects to to reduce the amount amount of solar radiation reaching the earth in order to contract the effects of increasing levels of greenhouse gasses.

I’ve seen his paper and I’m pretty sure he’s moved on since then. At the very least, he wants an honest assessment of the actual science, something vary rare in official circles, witness the hatchet job being done on him now.
