How an Economy Grows and Why It Doesn't (by Irwin Schiff)
It explains how the economic works in comic and easy to understand form
Show this to your Socialist friends and challenge their thinking
That's just the problem, isn't it? Socialists don't "think". They simply follow their indoctrination and emote.
The biggest problem I've encountered with libs, is getting them to examine data, facts, logic, and reason. Most just shut their eyes, and start screaming profanities at you.
Tough to educate someone in that mental state.
Theres some who are Socialist who emote and can’t be helped, but there are some who been indoctrinated and were never challenged to think otherwise. These people we can save
I consider myself someone like this. I used to think I was a socialist throughout highschool and uni and used to think capitalism is evil. It wasn’t until I met someone on the right who articulated it to me and challenged me old views did I started to change
I was indoctrinated into the liberal view from an early age, and eventually came to conservatism due to observing the hypocrisy of Democrats played out on the national stage.
It was tough (even scary) to begin my search for information on "the other side", but I took baby steps, and eventually found my way into the bright light of day. I know that many others have done it, too.
You're correct that some liberal slaves can be mentally emancipated, but the usual leftist programming prevents most from accepting any data from our side. We're "eeeeevil", ya know.
Still, I'd never try to dissuade anyone from attempting to rescue anyone who's entrapped by the left-wing Borg. Just know that you have your work cut out for you.
I think for the Left, Conservatives are too rational and ‘boring’ and make things overall work ‘too well’ economically and socially, so the Left is put in the position of opposing this relative success and unexciting rationality with hysterical lying, identity politics, making unsupportable claims and accusations, nitpicking problem areas, setting up strawmen, adopting destructive alternative policies and avoiding reasonable debate.
They're just too dumb to understand that their ideas, ALL of them, have been tried before, in most cases dozens of times and thru dozens of permutations before.
Ironically, it is conservative ideation, embodied in the founding of the US, that is the singular example of a nation founded upon a pure idea. Yes, it's stodgy, boring, and 230 years old. So it can't be any good any more, right? It's lost its novelty, it must be time to move onto something else, right?
None, none, none of the alternative systems have lasted as long as the very young US, since its founding. To be sure, many many invocations of these alternative ideas, carried to their logical extension(s) = various forms of tyranny, HAVE lasted longer than the mere 230 years of the US. [I am not the world's history expert, and I may be wrong saying that *NO* other civilization worked; maybe tha Incas worked; maybe, in the ancient world, some Muslim-like religion worked]
However, history's cruelest twist is that the very last thing the left comes to realize in the establishment and ultimately the imposition of their utopia(s) is that they are creating or voting for or ratifying their own prison, their own tyranny. This is the quandary, that a mentally diminished population, particularly one drunk on "democratic" (eg; mob) rule wishes more and more government control and intrusion into their lives for the imagined end-result of making their lives easier. Freedom-lovers wish less and less government intrusion in their lives to make their lives easier. I don't know how to resolve this conundrum. Surely, an education loop must be involved. But apparently, in the United States of Entertainment (thx to Jonah Goldberg) there is not enough attention-span to convey the lessons of freedom and independence, and self-reliance, etc; etc; Furthermore, the demographics of the modern industrial world has apparently placed the productive at the the disadvantage of the takers and dependents. And so, the open question as I see it is, does the US have to go through the alcoholic-model "hit rock bottom" scenario to begin the rebuilding process?
I honestly don't know. I know damn well we're going to have to go through a period at least as bad as the 70's which was really a sucky time; as I believe anyone who lived through them will tell you.
“Most shut their eyes and just start screaming profanities at you.”
The ones I encounter usually say, “You just don’t get it, do you?”, or, “Who told you that, Rush Limbaugh?”. Sometimes they give you the look that says you’re the dumbest creature on the face of the earth.
Amazing.
IMHO
What always breaks that pompous facade, is when you point out to them that only conservatives hear both sides. Liberals may claim to have listened to Rush, but most of them are lying through their teeth.
I've challenged lots of liberals to tell me what conservative information sources they read or listen to. Most will fumble around, trying to name just one, but usually they can't. If they can, I ask them to tell me what they found there, and their answers are never better than juvenile denigrations of the named conservative source.
Point is, you can force them into a corner with the fact that they only know what they've learned through left-wing sources. They can't prove to you that they honestly know anything about conservatism, because they've never bothered to examine it. You have to causatively seek that information out. You can't get it, unless you're looking for it.
We, on the other hand, have no choice but to know what their side's viewpoint is. They control academia, the press, entertainment, and every gov't bureaucracy. Their viewpoint (and the realities of liberalism) cannot be escaped, if you live in this country.
If you're a liberal, all you have to do is click off AM radio, and there go half the conservative voices in the land. Navigate clear of right-leaning websites, and there goes the other half. It's that easy to be ignorant.
“What always breaks that pompous facade...”
That it is and it’s certainly obnoxious.
(Thanks for the pointers.)
Best Regards
