I wouldn’t call them ‘Vichy Republicans’, rather ‘Bandwagon Republicans’. When we’re in power, they are all over the place, trying to impose their views on the rest of us and reminding us that they exist. When the going gets tough, they run back to mama-rat, e.g. Frum.
