Psst: The super-secretive National Security Agency is about to build a huge, $1.9 billion data center at Camp Williams, Utah, to help spy on communications worldwide.
The planned work there is so sensitive and classified that Utah's congressional delegation is declining to talk about it, saying it doesn't want to accidentally step over any lines about what can and cannot be disclosed. They referred inquiries to the NSA, which provided only a brief statement confirming the center is coming to Utah.

My baseball coach joined the FBI when I was in high school because he went on an LDS mission and spoke a language they needed in an upstanding citizen. On first glance, this is a win-win for the state and the fed.

Camp Williams is a Utah National Guard facility located in the extreme south end of the Salt Lake Valley. They practice with their howitzers and Apaches there...

The Mormon church Language Schools are among the best, if not THE best, currently in operation in the USA. Quite a few ‘government’ groups send their personnel there instead of DLI in Monterrey. The folks coming out of the Mormon school possess a high level of ability right from the git-go.

I once drove many many miles west of SLC on the old Pony Express road, and I noticed that there’s some strange stuff out there in the desert.

Yessir. The Pony Express trail drifts out in BLM land, where we go to shoot clays in the desert. Lots of weird stuff out there... unmarked vertical mine shafts in the middle of the puckerbrush... gotta love the desert. There’s an extinct volcano out there somewhere. I’m talking cinder cone. I’ve been to the top of it in an old F350 in 4L, and you think I can find it on a map?

Yea, I recall seeing Dugway out across the huge expanse of desert, it looked like a mirage out there.

They did a lot of chemical weapons testing out there, accidently killed a bunch of sheep with nerve gas in the 60s, I think. Rumors of other black stuff going on at Dugway.

They never did admit responsibility for killing the sheep (though they did), but they quietly paid the Basque ranchers plenty for em anyway. I quit camping out there anymore. The Uintahs are much nicer anyway.

I heard they moved some of the secret stuff from Area 51 to this part of Utah.
BTW, Bill Clinton was kept in the dark about much of our secrets there.
Now that we have an illegal alien in the White House, it’s probably totally off limits to him.

I’m surprised the government can do anything without spending 5 or 10 billion.
