Jim Geraghty points out an unusual item from Reuters yesterday, in which the State Department announced that Hillary Clinton would not accompany Barack Obama to Moscow next week. The nations chief diplomat will stay home while Obama pursues nuclear reductions with Russia, one of his big diplomatic projects, one in which observers would presume that the Secretary of State would have substantial involvement:

Does it matter? Putin could have major brain surgery and still be able to out think the he and she clown (and her little dog husband, too).
“My arm hurts...seriously. I can’t go.”
If she gets out of line, Obama will twist her arm again.
Appointing Hillary as his Secretary of State was a weak and cowardly payback on Obama’s part, and everyone knew it.
He hates her with a passion, which is evidenced in the many photos of them together, and by his shameful treatment of her during the Democrat National Convention.
I’m sure the feeling’s mutual.
There were rumblings that the Iran scolding the beast gave Barky really changed their relationship. Hence, she was dropped from the visit to Putin.
I have thought, all along, that Hillary took her current job for one reason, and that was to get some “gravitas”. My prediction was that in two years, she would resign over some issue, lay low while Obama made a mess of things, and then try to wrest the Democratic nomination from him in 2012.
I’ll take the under on Hillary bailing before 012 to “spend time with her family”
the longer she stays the more her caboose is stuck to the Obama hell train.
Who’s Hillary?.....
Putin says, " sure "
Deal done.
Obama goes home and disarms our weapons.
< *Putin smiles* >
Will she run for her old Senate seat in 2010 and against Zero for the nomination in 2012?
I dunno....his cabinet is filled with Clinton cronies, just sayin

They've always loved each other!

Really!
Will be like taking candy from a baby.......for the Russian's.
If his popularity tanks, she’ll run against him in 2012. Wont that be amusing!
oh please, oh please, oh please. It may be Hillary that ousts this guy. Wouldnt that be ironic.
What’s unusual about this?
Zero hasn’t let her get involved in anything: for Europe, the UN, or the Mideast, he has named “special envoys” reporting to him, not her.
Why should Moscow be any different?
Hillary might run for Gov. of New York? Hah. Go for it.
Interesting theory; I wouldn't be surprised if you're right.

Bubba is doing a fundraiser for Carolyn Maloney who is running against Gillibrand for senate in NY.
O has ordered Maloney NOT to run against gilli.
this is probably the way she wants it. after he makes a hash of things (*again*) she’ll have plausible deniability and can back-bite him later at her convenience.
I thought it was a smart move as she could have been more of a threat to him in the Senate and by appointing her he pretty much controls her.
He also gave out many of the S.O.S. responsibilities to others, thus taking more power away from her. Just my thoughts.
So why did Hillary take the job?
I think you are right although I am not sure she will make the two years. She is going to challenge him in 2012 and this time ACORN will not be frauding the caucus system for ZERO IMO. Her people have a total hand on what he did to steal the primary using the caucus system.
And I used to think she would be the worst thing that could ever happen to this Country! Boy was I wrong!
No. He will sic Michelle on Hillary.
That is interesting that Bubba is doing a fundraiser. Are we seeing the split widen?
Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer... inside the white house she can gather dirt on him first hand to use at her convenience later.
Really changed their relationship? I don’t think anything changed - they hate each other and I think that’s apparent to everyone. I give her two years MAX as the SecSt before she pulls the plug and then runs against him in 2012....I found myself thinking this morning that I don’t think I would have despised her as much as I absolutely detest this empty suited thug from Chicago!
I think that each of them is trying to use the other. Hillary wants to gain gravitas, stay in the public eye, and come back for another run.
Obama wants to keep his friends close and his enemies closer, and subject her to subtle humiliations like this one.
Each of them will betray or dump the other without notice, if it serves their purposes. Obama has the upper hand now, but if he weakens and continues to lose popularity, he’d better watch out.
“Hillary might run for Gov. of New York? Hah. Go for it.”
There’s a theory that Hill will do just that and then get ready to primary 0bama from Albany.
Any theories as to why the Obamas hate Hillary?
Good point-but he can dig up dirt on her too.
“its OK, you go on without me. I’ll be fine. I have plenty of work here to keep me busy.”
And then she turns to make sure he is flying on an Airbus 310.
Any truth to the rumor that Rudy G. will run for gov?
Well, gee whiz! A girl’s got to start sometime. And don’t think old Hil doest have a strong sixth sense of Now if Duncan L. Hunter would just write a best seller; come out of retirement to perform a viable and news worthy feat of accomplishment to get his name out there! He was the best of the lot then , and he and Sarah still are.
Agree with your scenario. She'll resign and convey the message that she couldn't be a party to diplomatic fiascos and foreign policy blunders, of which there will be many. She's probably very comfortable with the track she's on. Right on schedule.
Very unusual for SecState not to accompany the President on such a trip.
a strong sicth sense of timing, that is!
Power without responsibility.
And 0bama won the round. He has kept hillary out of all of the important issues, so she can't claim gravitas, and she's effectively out of the public eye. He couldn't have kept her out of politics any more even if he put her in jail.
hillary doesn't have any leverage, even when 0bama fails. She's not identified with any issue, except maybe health care, and she doesn't have an advantage there.
i’ve always thought it was the other way, he’d pick her up as SoS, drop her after a coule months, and let her fall into obscurity to remove her as a future challenger.
And what deals were made to get them in there.
I've never known of a person to negotiate before accepting a cabinet position, especially for SOS.
But she is a Clinton after all.
I never thought I’d see the day when I wished Hillary was president.
The seeds are now being sown for Hillary’s 2012 challenge to Obama.
With her advancing age, 2012 is Hillary’s last chance. If she sees any chance at all, she will go for it.
Definitely. Heard Dick Morris explain that as O’s numbers fall we’ll see Hitlery separating herself from his administration.
The leak about her insisting he be tougher on Iran had me wondering why she was helping him. Now that Morris explains it, I get it.
Further, there is that story in the National Inquirer about Michelle drinking too much. This smells like the clintons.
