A Hillary-Obama rift in the making ?
Hot Air ^ | July 01, 2009 | ED MORRISSEY

Jim Geraghty points out an unusual item from Reuters yesterday, in which the State Department announced that Hillary Clinton would not accompany Barack Obama to Moscow next week. The nation’s chief diplomat will stay home while Obama pursues nuclear reductions with Russia, one of his big diplomatic projects, one in which observers would presume that the Secretary of State would have substantial involvement:

Does it matter? Putin could have major brain surgery and still be able to out think the he and she clown (and her little dog husband, too).

Appointing Hillary as his Secretary of State was a weak and cowardly payback on Obama’s part, and everyone knew it.

He hates her with a passion, which is evidenced in the many photos of them together, and by his shameful treatment of her during the Democrat National Convention.

I’m sure the feeling’s mutual.

There were rumblings that the Iran scolding the beast gave Barky really changed their relationship. Hence, she was dropped from the visit to Putin.

I have thought, all along, that Hillary took her current job for one reason, and that was to get some “gravitas”. My prediction was that in two years, she would resign over some issue, lay low while Obama made a mess of things, and then try to wrest the Democratic nomination from him in 2012.

I’ll take the under on Hillary bailing before 012 to “spend time with her family”

the longer she stays the more her caboose is stuck to the Obama hell train.

I can just picture how this will go.
obama says, "I would like to eliminate all nuclear weapons"

Putin says, " sure "

Deal done.

Obama goes home and disarms our weapons.

What’s unusual about this?
Zero hasn’t let her get involved in anything: for Europe, the UN, or the Mideast, he has named “special envoys” reporting to him, not her.

Why should Moscow be any different?

I thought it was a smart move as she could have been more of a threat to him in the Senate and by appointing her he pretty much controls her.

He also gave out many of the S.O.S. responsibilities to others, thus taking more power away from her. Just my thoughts.

I think you are right although I am not sure she will make the two years. She is going to challenge him in 2012 and this time ACORN will not be frauding the caucus system for ZERO IMO. Her people have a total hand on what he did to steal the primary using the caucus system.

So why did Hillary take the job?

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer... inside the white house she can gather dirt on him first hand to use at her convenience later.

Really changed their relationship? I don’t think anything changed - they hate each other and I think that’s apparent to everyone. I give her two years MAX as the SecSt before she pulls the plug and then runs against him in 2012....I found myself thinking this morning that I don’t think I would have despised her as much as I absolutely detest this empty suited thug from Chicago!

I think that each of them is trying to use the other. Hillary wants to gain gravitas, stay in the public eye, and come back for another run.

Obama wants to keep his friends close and his enemies closer, and subject her to subtle humiliations like this one.

Each of them will betray or dump the other without notice, if it serves their purposes. Obama has the upper hand now, but if he weakens and continues to lose popularity, he’d better watch out.

Michelle Obama detests HRC more than Barack does. During the Hillary video at the Democratic National Convention, Michelle Obama had a frozen smile on her face and it was obvious she was seething.

Any theories as to why the Obamas hate Hillary?

Agree with your scenario. She'll resign and convey the message that she couldn't be a party to diplomatic fiascos and foreign policy blunders, of which there will be many. She's probably very comfortable with the track she's on. Right on schedule.

I think that each of them is trying to use the other. Hillary wants to gain gravitas, stay in the public eye, and come back for another run.

And 0bama won the round. He has kept hillary out of all of the important issues, so she can't claim gravitas, and she's effectively out of the public eye. He couldn't have kept her out of politics any more even if he put her in jail.

hillary doesn't have any leverage, even when 0bama fails. She's not identified with any issue, except maybe health care, and she doesn't have an advantage there.

Definitely. Heard Dick Morris explain that as O’s numbers fall we’ll see Hitlery separating herself from his administration.

The leak about her insisting he be tougher on Iran had me wondering why she was helping him. Now that Morris explains it, I get it.

Further, there is that story in the National Inquirer about Michelle drinking too much. This smells like the clintons.
