Al Franken is going to the Senate. From The Chicago Tribune:
After a fierce legal battle and a vote recount that stretched on for seven months, the Minnesota Supreme Court unanimously ruled Tuesday that Democrat Al Franken should be certified as the winner in the state's U.S. Senate race.
Norm Coleman has conceded.
And here's the thing:
Franken's victory gives the Democratic caucus 60 votes in the Senate, enough to overcome Republican filibuster attempts.
There is a lesson here for detached/oblivious gun owners. Particularly since Franken won by a mere 312 vote margin. And especially because Coleman was rated "A" by the National Rifle Association and "B" by Gun Owners of America. You can read Coleman's voting record on gun control here.
And Franken's position on guns?
"See, I've never owned a gun," Franken wrote in a smarmy attack on those who do in Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot.
"I won't allow one in the house."
And then there's this, from the same book:
Now again, I’ve just been talking about death from gunshot wounds. Tragic. But not as damn expensive as the pesky four to six non-fatal gunshot injuries that occur for every fatal shooting and crowd our emergency rooms. Maybe that’s why the American Academy of Pediatrics supported the Brady Bill and has called for the ban of handguns and assault weapons.
And let us not forget Franken's attendance at a Brady Campaign/Million Mom March reception to honor Teddy Kennedy's wife for her work in exploiting children to advance citizen disarmament.
312 votes. And now this bad political joke will be played out on the rest of us.

This puke is going to come to DC and rent a house, condo or apartment to stay in while Congress is in session. Odds are good he's going to rent within a half mile or so of my house.
I just may go over and check him out every now and then ~ stand outside with a bullhorn and ask him, "Al, you still got that big gun of yours?" Do that at 2 AM or something. Maybe tell the neighbors (through that bullhorn) "Hey, folks, Al keeps gold in the house. He has stacks and stacks of books of gold leaf". See what happens.

That's right. And all those who participated in “Operation Chaos” can thank themselves that McLame got the nomination. Next time you all do something so stupid as to throw away your primary vote, just to play childish games in the Rat primary, at least show the humility to show up and vote for the least offensive candidate in the general. Franken is one of those leftists whose authoritarian collectivism is right under the surface of his skin, barely contained. Most leftists know that, in this country, you have to conceal it for the most part, while implementing it under cover.
Given this “near the surface” attribute of his ideology, the always accompanying violent hatred of ideological opposites is also barely under control. He’s going to assault someone on the Senate floor - you wait.
What is really stupid is why we are not running the crooks out on rails. OK, so the "R" was not my choice - I still don't like McCain but just look at what the Left has been building:
A large voter base that demands 'bread and circuses' from the gub'mint and that votes for the criminals that promise to deliver, massive criminal enterprises (like voter fraud - ala acorn, voting dead), insulation from public exposure and prosecution - how long has Jeffords been around?, anyone seen that Obama birth certificate? - and a sufficiently pacified opposition party that is sitting there and doing nothing about it.
I'm to blame just as much as the next person, I should camping out in front of the state capital and kicking this up a notch instead of sitting in my air conditioned office.

As far as I am concerned, the state of Minnesota had hit rock bottom and is as low as any third world nation. I have visited 42 of the 50 states. There are a couple that I will never visit because I have absolutely NO desire to let them get my money. Minnesota tops that list. Mass is second.
I just hope we’ve got the stomach to do what needs to be done.
Franken’s anti gun position might play well with the brie and Birkenstock liberals in Lake Minnetonka, but it will not be well received in out state Minnesota especially up north.
Contact your STATE legislators.
Get sovereignty legislation in the works.
Work for state level nullification of federal edicts.
Eventually, the feds will have to react to FORCE states to comply. At that point, you’ll know “it’s on”.

At this point - The numbers in congress doesn’t matter any more. What matters is what is in the cabinet in the living room or den and the will of those who have the means to resist this Govt. that has totally disreguarded our Constitution and the principals on which we became a nation on. May God give us wisdom on where to turn now that our Govt. has totally turned it’s back on everything that we once stood for.

A very similar agenda would be getting pushed through congress; they would still have the same majority. McLame would acquiesce in the spirit of bi-partisanship; that is his MO He stated he would sign on to cap and trade and he was running on the need to reform health-care. He voted yes for the tarp with all the pork involved. He has claimed Obama has done a good job thus far.
