A team of scientists with years of expertise in climate issues has written an open letter to Congress, warning members that, "The sky is not falling," and global warming alarmism is unproven.
The letter was signed by physics professors Robert H. Austin and William Happer of Princeton, environmental sciences professor S. Fred Singer of the University of Virginia, retired manager for strategic planning at ExxonMobil Roger Cohen, physics professor (emeritus) Harold W. Lewis at UC-Santa Barbara and others.
Their names trail long lists of initials including APS or the American Physical Society, AAAS or the American Association for the Advancement of Science and AGU or the American Geophysical Union.
At issue is the pending "cap-and-trade" tax increase in Congress that would impose not only restrictions on the use of energy, but also taxes on that use. It narrowly was passed in the U.S. House but faces some hurdles in the Senate.

Every piece of major legislation has been conducted under “crisis mode” by our Congress. Well I’ve had more than enough of this governance by crisis. This is not how to operate a legislature and there must be some way to put a check in place on the abuse of power and malpractice being perpetrated against the American people.
Everything is a crisis and everyone is a terrorist.

Y'know, if this crap sandwich gets enacted, I'm going to request the city add a photo of Obama with this quote above his head to the utility bills. That way everyone will be clear about why their rates are "skyrocketing" and they won't bitch and moan to the city clerks.
I downloaded it to my computer when it first came out on the web. Excellent quality and not chopped into sections. If I could figure out how, I’d make multiple copies and give it out at our Tea Party!
They are peer reviewed scientist, who disagree with the hoax of global warming. Global Warming is more about wealth redistribution to other countries. It is a tax on the US for being successful. It should be referenced as such, US success tax, or the plan to redistribute 2.2 trillion tax dollars overseas.

In my many discussions on this topic with those liberals I know, they keep saying that “juried scientific journals” all agree on global warming.
Journals such as “Science” and “Scientific American” are mentioned.
Can anyone link to any “juried scientific journals” in which scientists have found data to explain that climate change is not occurring as Owlgore has convinced everyone that it is. Specifically I need data about the shrinking ice caps and the polar bears...God rest their souls...../s.

The demorats agenda is, let them can push the small guy out of business. This is preferred, so they can demonize the large companies. This way once they become to big to fail, then they can be scooped up by the government. You then do not have any public outrage against the government, but against the business.

This perceived crisis will last at least one more generation because children as young as pre-school age are being scared to death with school curriculae that we’re all going to die - animals too - unless the government does something.

Look we don't listen to scientists - we listen to focus group organizers and leftist grant seekers propped up by underlings like GE. It's becoming the Amerikan way.
Quickly scanning the list of names, you see a lot of “retired” and “emeritus.” In other words, these esteemed people do not depend upon keeping the government teat flowing for their livelihoods. They can speak truthfully from positions of financial security and not have to worry about censure, losing retirements, or worse.

Look at the statements coming out of GE, ExxonMobil, or Walmart for clues. These companies know they can gain market share as a result of these changes by pushing out all competition.
Oh that is absolutely true, and happens across many industries, for instance automobiles. Complex regulations, needed or not, help the already established corporations, squashing innovation and new enterprise - which incidentally would otherwise boom with modern communication and manufacturing technology allowing small start-ups to innovate.
The reason that computer tech (software and hardware) has exploded is because there IS NO GOVERNMENT REGULATION.
The Google jerks who fund leftism can't seem to see that when they themselves are the beneficiaries.
With less government interference there would be more creative vehicles on the road than one could imagine, steam, electric, soybean, tricycler, two stroke, etc.
The arrogance of government politicians, and the sinister who finance them, (think Al Franken) are crippling what America once stood for.
The interesting thing is that a place like California which once represented the crucible of imagination in the US, is now an abyss of government oppression and arrogance. The Dark Ages of Leftism.
Don’t confuse Congress-critters with facts that don’t support their agenda...
