Cabinet secretaries will fan out this summer to hear concerns and possibly sway some more-conservative voters.
Reporting from Washington -- The White House bills it as a "listening tour," a chance for President Obama's Cabinet to get out of Washington and hear what's on the minds of rural voters around the country.
En route, the White House is making sure it reaches voters in crucial swing districts.
The itinerary laid out by the White House for its just-announced "Rural Tour" includes several politically competitive districts, which would give the Obama administration a chance to make its case to people who voted Republican in past congressional races but are now represented by Democrats up for reelection in 2010.
As part of the tour, 10 Cabinet secretaries are being dispatched to nine states over the summer. Locations include several districts that Republicans are targeting in next year's midterm elections.
The tour is one of several examples of administration officials crisscrossing the country to tout Obama's agenda and foster goodwill.

It is such a sterling cabinet; I’m sure the country-folk will give them due hearing.
Of course, the czars will remain in D.C. wielding the real power.

With the way I am feeling about all of this, Go Away would be a polite, G-rated version of what I’m really thinking.
Rural voters = anyone not from Los Angeles or New York.
Starting the Obama 2012 campaign a litle early and using government funds to do it.
The problem is that this circus act will probably work because the GOP has no leadership to counter the Dems. What happened to the Republican “listening tour” that was concocted a couple months ago? Like everything else they do it just faded into oblivion. What we need is a “conservative listening tour” made up of many of the leading conservative spokespeople to fan out over the country to counter the Dems. I guess Rush will have to expand to 6 hours a day or we need a 24 hour conservative news network...

BRILLIANT!! When Hillary ran a bus tour around the country touting Hillarycare, angry citizens just about drive it back into D.C. with protests that were the equivalent of Tea Parties. We should take the itineraries of these pieces of human filth and make them our Tea Party agenda.
Campaigning at the taxpayers’ expense. Illegal. Like everything else about BO.
Somebody needs to get their schedules and forward them.There are millions of pissed-off people out here just itching to get their hands on some of these hacks.
