Fortunately, I saw a lot of Britcoms growing up, so I was able to “get” AYBS and the references. RIP, Miss Sugden.

“...the younger woman who played her co-worker,,,”

Yes, Wendy Richard. I wonder how many remember the song, “Come Outside” that Wendy recorded in the early sixties with a fellow by the name of Mike Sarne?

How sad. I watched this show religiously for some time. I had the great fortune to meet John Inman (Mr. Humphries) at a book signing maybe 10 years ago. He looked the same, though the repeats of AYBS that I was watching had to have been 20+ years old, and was quite the gentleman. I was sad to learn of his passing as well.

According to Wiki, Wendy Richard was a big supporter of Margaret Thatcher.

Jon Stewart and Gilbert Godfried.

Seems like a celebrity is dying every day. This week alone was Mollie, Billy Mays, Fred Travelena, Karl Malden, and I just read about the actor-singer Harve Presnell passing away today. I hear Malden was married to the same woman for 70 years, and she survived him. Remarkable.

“According to Wiki, Wendy Richard was a big supporter of Margaret Thatcher.”

All the more reason to remember her fondly.

Gay men used to be a lot more fun than they are now.

Wendy Richard also died this year. And John Inman 2 years ago.

Captain Peacock, Mr. Rumbold, and Mr. Lucas (Frank Thornton, Nicholas Smith, and Trevor Bannister) are all still around.
