McCain's Camp Praises [Governor] Sanford and Trashes [Governor] Palin?
Fox News ^ | July 1, 2009 | Tammy Bruce

Posted on 07/01/2009 6:07:02 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

People like John McCain and others who have been part of the self-absorbed, navel-gazing and corrupt Washington environment for a quarter century no doubt resent someone not "of them." But it is indeed odd when Sarah Palin, a bright, shining light for conservatives remains the prime target of the existing machine, while Mark Sanford and other hypocritical liars are serenaded as getting a raw deal by the very public daughter of a defacto leader of the party.

For some reason, Meghan McCain, writing in The Daily Beast, seems to think adulterous politicians, like South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, should be forgiven and can still do a darn good job representing their constituents. Why? Because lying, cheating and betraying the ones closest to you should not at all be held against you nor should it make people presume you might betray complete strangers known as "constituents." While you use tax payer money to indulge in your cheating. And while it exposes you to blackmail and other sundry stuff. Not at all. No Sirree. Because, you see, marriage can be "complicated." Gee, I wonder where she gets these ideas?

Now to John McCain's other people who just can't seem to stop maligning Sarah Palin. A woman who was chosen by them, a woman who single-handedly made the John McCain campaign relevant and viable. And what do they do in return? Continue their own backstabbing jihad. Why? Maybe because she doesn't fit the scenario noted above by Meghan "Deep Thoughts" McCain? The more likely scenario, of course, is those in charge of the Worst Campaign in History want someone else to blame.

We're going to end up with Romney, Pawlenty, Jeb Bush or some other RINO in 2012 again, aren't we?

I’m a Californian, and if Iowa and the other early primary states pull on us this time what they did in 2008, I’m not going to be very forgiving.

McCain could do the GOP a great service by shutting his mouth.

I’d like to send McCain a bill for all those hours I spent volunteering to get Sarah elected. Maybe he could dock his sleezy daughter’s allowance to help offset the expenses.

If that happens, Sarah has to run as an independent. Ditching that albatross known as the GOP would be the best thing in the world. F*** all of the progressive Republicans.

I agree, but the guy is clueless.  He hasn't held a decent job in what, 27 years?

He considers himself above the rest of us, and you know what, the way he is allowed to germander things, he truly is.

The following is directed to all Freepers in general.

Some Freepers see everything through a red, white, and blue filter.  Lets prove right now how many of us do.  2% of the Freepathon total has been reached.

Do the deed.  Click those smiling faces right now.  Spread the word...

Please vist the Freepathon thread and ham it up with folks over there.  Posting on the thread gets it more attention, and we can end this Freepathon sooner.

I'm not sure (now) just how much of Pelosi’s legislation McCain would actually sign?

Would he sign tax-and-trade?

Would he sign the earmarks (er, stimulus) bills?

Would he take over GM the same way?

...

I'm sure McCain would be different than Obama, but by how much? In what areas would he be willing to stand up to the liberal press?

..

Hillary is a much more attuned, more patient and more capable socialist than Obama. Would she have been a more dangerous person if elected as president?

I don’t think Hillary would have been - too much baggage and hatred.

Obama walked in, and trashed the rule of law, and nobody can seem to slow him down.

Could hillary have done that?

I doubt it.

“In what areas would he be willing to stand up to the liberal press?”
++++++++++++++

I get your point, but damn (excuse my French) the liberal press - we need to attack them and overwhelm them. The MSM cannot die soon enough. 1400 more layoffs at Gannett today!

McCain is a loser and backstabber. He routinely sells out conservatives for 30 pieces of silver, in the form of tv face time. He fails to defend the honor of a conservative woman; even after she defended his honor when his performance was indefensible. McCain supports whatever the democrats are purposing, just not quite as much of it - He served his country, yet he won't defend her from invasion, he is the first to cross the isle and the last to stand on solid principle.

John, let others serve, it is time to enjoy retirement - far away from the press and even farther from DC.

"We're going to end up with Romney, Pawlenty, Jeb Bush or some other RINO in 2012 again, aren't we?"

Indeed. My memory serves me correctly. I'm still smarting from Dole, Juan McCain and some guy who called himself a "compassionate conservative".

If we do it's because it won't matter anyway. The party puts up someone like any of them, it will be because we are having an Iranian sham election. Which is a damn good possibility if ACORN's involvement in the census goes on as planned.

I predict the real possibility of armband wearing ACORN "poll watchers" in all the major cities. Anyone here recall the Detroit polling places where registered Republicans were not allowed to enter until after serious legal force in the form of Pubbie lawyers arrived? Just the beginning......
