Imagine, moderate Repubs also fear an attractive woman who stands her ground.

be an excellent democrat!

Yawn, Gov Palin is being attacked by the same hack sore loser Republican-Democrats who slammed GWB after McCain lost in the 2000 primary.

McCain's goons spend years smearing Pres Bush after their loss.

Sissified water-boys for the MSM.

Politico is not a news organization. They are a propaganda outlet for Obama and his Democrat/Marxists. I don’t trust anything they say.

But when Obama crashes and burns, Politico will crash with him.

Schmidt said: “His allegation that I was defaming Palin by alleging post-partum depression at the campaign headquarters is categorically untrue. In fact, I think it rises to the level of a slander because it’s about the worst thing you can say about somebody who does what I do for a living.”

He admits to being the one. He just thinks that in doing so he wasn't trying to defame her.

Thanks for posting. I hope all posters from yesterday see this. From the article:

Kristol cited a passage in Purdum’s piece in which “some top aides” were said to worry about the Alaska governor’s “mental state” and the prospect that the Alaska governor may be suffering from post-partum depression following the birth of her son Trig. “In fact, one aide who raised this possibility in the course of trashing Palin’s mental state to others in the McCain-Palin campaign was Steve Schmidt,” Kristol wrote.

But Kristol’s charge was seconded by Randy Scheunemann, a longtime foreign policy adviser to McCain who is also close to the Standard editor and was thought to be a Palin ally within the campaign.

“Steve Schmidt has a congenital aversion to the truth,” Scheunemann said. “On two separate and distinct occasions, he speculated about about Governor Palin having post-partum depression, and on the second he threatened that if more negative publicity about the handling of Governor Palin emerged that he would leak his speculation [about post-partum depression] to the press. It was like meeting Tony Soprano.”

and Steve Schmidt's response:

Asked about the accusation, Schmidt fired back in an e-mail: “I'm sure John McCain would be president today if only Bill Kristol had been in charge of the campaign.”

Spoken like the liberal sissy he is.

Another reason to never give money to the Republican party. Instead give it to individual candidates you believe in.

Why on Earth would the Republicans even address an article that is written by an extreme left wing media outlet? Please...And now, why are WE addressing the response made by another extreme left wing media outlet. They want to keep us fighting so they can keep destryong our country. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

It’s impossible to prove, but without a rock-conservative like Palin on the ticket Johnny would have been the new Dukakis. Such as it is, the milky toasts in the campaign office do a 180 and blame Sarah for their close loss, a loss that would have been an embarrassing landslide (and career killer for much of the campaign staff) had Sarah not pulled more than her share of the rope.

The more the left attacks Palin the greater she grows in my eyes. If they hate and fear her that much then she may get my support.

I know that Kristol was way out in front with his support for Palin, but Republicans-Palin in particular, need to be wary of Kristol. He really got to gulping the 0 Kool-aid during the campaign last fall. He's just another Beltway RINO for my money.

There is no "feud". The ONLY source for the Vanity Fair piece was Steve Schmidt. this was confirmed to me by my Vanity Fair contact.

Steve Schmidt is a social liberal who wants the GOP to embrace gay marriage. Is there anything else you need to know? Does anyone expect someone who supports "gay rights" and abortion-on-demand like other RINOs to want Sarah Palin to lead the party?

The only "feud" is between Steve Schmidt and Republicans. I suggest he end the feud by just becoming a Democrat, with whom he agrees about 75% of the time.

McCain has spent the past 35 years “getting even” with a nation which left him to rot in Hanoi. At least, that is the way he views it. His contempt for the US is palpable...breathtaking. So anything he can do to revenge himself on the public, such as creating 50 million illegal voters, will put a wry, twisted smile on that hypocritical, treasonous face.

Rival factions close to the McCain campaign have been feuding since last fall over Palin

The McCain campaign has no one to blame but themselves -- specifically, supporting the $700 billion bailout of the financial sector. But McCain was such a weak candidate he probably would've lost anyway.

Is this because Sarah Palin will run for President in 2012?
Is it because McCain is also planning a yet ANOTHER run AGAIN for President in 2012???
Are they trying to trash this woman and her family because of an agenda???

Me thinketh they protest too much.
Me thinketh they are afraid of Governor Palin.
Me thinketh they have good reason.

President Sarah Palin 2001
Vice President choice??? Not McCain I’m sure.

I see this “infighting” and “finger pointing” as a final bringing to the surface of what has been (and still is) wrong with the GOP. RINOs need to be shown the door. The drag they create within the party is stifling. McCain (et al) needs to be shown the door.

The GOP needs some catharsis and cleansing, and if Sarah Palin becomes the catalyst for positive change, God bless her even more!

The left fears a unified conservative GOP. Ironically, they are actually being instrumental in making it happen. With the seemingly orchestrated attacks on Gov. Palin, the left exposes its true nature. It’s an ugly and power-hungry beast that seeks to devour anyone or anything that stands in the way of that power.

The core of American values remain conservative. We hold dear our individual and God-given rights. The contrast between left and conservative has never been greater than it is right now. With a truly conservative GOP, we can reclaim our country before the coastal elites start referring to themselves as “comrades”. (IMHO!)

Or is she a loose cannon who should be consigned to the tabloids where she can reside in perpetuity with other flash-in-the-pan sensations?

Considering that every smear against Governor Palin proved to be a flat out lie, including:

Pretended to give birth to the love child of her daughter
Went on a wild $150,000 shopping spree at Niemen Marcus
Refused to join other candidates on stage because of the abortion and drilling in Alaska views
Tried to get her ex-brother-in-law fired improperly
Thought Africa was a country
Had an affair with her husband's ex-business partner
Made victims of rape pay for their own rape kits
Said she could see Alaska from her house
Had a "witch doctor" as a spiritual adviser
Cut the special needs budget
Banned books
Was a member of a fringe party
Forced creationism to be taught in schools

I'd say she offer[s] a conservative and charismatic face for a demoralized and star-less party? is on point.

I take HUGE exception to the depiction of the VF piece as “hard hitting” - Politico has a very low threshold for “hard hitting” if THAT crappy, reheated, non-substantiated rag piece is “hard hitting”. The “author” is a no-load, panty waist, sorry excuse for a “journalist”. AND any “in fighting” mentioned by Politico is a canard created by the left to fuzzle the right...

I have been reading various excerpts and discussions of this Vanity Fair article about Sarah and from the beginning I saw it as a twofer for the RATS. They trash an opponent and start another squabble among the Republican party hirelings. I have volunteered and worked for campaigns and know that the energy and enthusiasm of those volunteers and hired workers are vital to the success of the candidate. However, some of those involved in the effort can get very carried away with their own sense of self importance and that can be a huge negative for other workers and the candidate. Why waste time on these opportunistic piss ants who are only helping the socialist RATS to further their destruction of our Republican form of government? McCain lost by a smaller margin than would have happened if not for the huge draw of his VP Palin. This in spite of the back stabbers she apparently was saddled with. Gov Palin has only to recall the Couric setup by Ms. Wallace, Couric friend, to keep herself on track for reaching further political goals. Obama himself ran against Gov Palin, not McCain. This period of time is excellent training and a learning experience for a presidential run. She already is required to be more knowledgeable about any given thing than ObamaBiden or the govt media. Go Sarah!
