THE mystery over Michael Jackson's death took a dramatic turn after police began tracing the drugs believed to have killed him.
Prescriptions appear to have been written in several names - including members of his entourage.
This raises the prospect the 50-year-old singer set up an illegal supply chain to satisfy a dependency on painkillers his doctor would not prescribe.
Inquiries are focusing on a bodyguard who was at the Los Angeles mansion where the star collapsed on Thursday.
The bodyguard, in his 20s, was one of up to 15 individuals often staying at Jackson's mansion. He shared it with a circle of aides, friends and Nation of Islam minders.
If it can be proved drugs were obtained for Jackson in someone else's name it would become a serious criminal matter. It could also go some way to answering questions about what happened.
The TMZ celebrity news website reported that a "drug overdose" was the most likely cause of death.
Dr Conrad Murray denied giving Jackson the drugs believed to have caused a cardiac arrest, insisting he never prescribed or gave Jackson either Demerol or Oxycontin.
Dr Murray said that when he found Jackson in bed, he still had a pulse. He tried to revive him but struggled to find anyone at the mansion to help him call 911, his lawyer Edward Chernoff said.
Once he realised cardiopulmonary resuscitation was not working, he dialled 911 on his mobile phone.
But Dr Murray, who moved into the house weeks ago as Jackson's personal physician, says he did not know the exact address. None of the house phones worked "for privacy reasons", so he ran round looking for help.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that this man had young boys in his bed? For gosh sakes, even Nancy Grace is devoting her show to him every night....a woman who fights so hard for children’s rights.
He is being made out to be some kind of saint....unbelievable. I guess it’s true, money and celebrity can buy anything, even when it comes to turning a blind eye to a man who was arguably a pedophile.

I think that Michael met an untimely Nation of Islam death. They knew he couldn’t physically do the concerts, so the next best moneymaker for their Islamic Slush Fund was Michael’s money NOW.

From the get go, I’ve always thought the Saudis were behind Jackson’s death. Someone needs to find out who is the true financier of the promotion group in London who was sponsoring the tour. We all know the Saudis are all about money. If they chose to back Jackson, and for whatever reason, Jackson decided to pull out of the tour, there’s no doubt in my mind the Saudis have the network to kill Jackson- including the NoI. Yeah, a bit tin foilish, but considering Jackson’s time in the mideast, and the amount of debt he amassed there, anything is possible.
I bet the NOI is going to try & get his money somehow.

My understanding is that his estate is worth -$300MM or so. He owned some income-producing assets, such as a stake in the Beatles song royalty rights, which will likely be surrendered to creditors.

I haven’t watched them but there is video of his rehearsals where he apparently looks healthy and energetic. I also recall the first autopsy they stated he was in relatively good health or at least in much better shape than they expected.

I won’t call him a saint and I won’t condone any of the things he was accused of doing. But I do, in a way find the whole thing a human tragedy of sorts.
Forced by family to perform on stage at 3 years old, reports that he was molested by his father. Who knows, lots of gay folks in the music biz, it’s not hard to imagine that Joe Jackson would have pimped his son out to music promoters in a perverted fashion of “sleeping your way to the top” His fascination with children and zoo animals and the like screams out about a man who’s childhood was stolen from him in the pursuit by others of the almighty buck.
Go ahead and flame away at me if you must, but Jacko was suffering serious mental demons and we all know how molested kids grow up to be adults that molest.
Like I said, I condone nothing that the accusations claimed, but I find it tragic how performers that started at such an early age almost always end up with a variety of problems. Chewed up and spit out like so many others, by lots of people that do not have the childs interest at heart. Assorted hangers-on and enablers glomming on to the fame at whatever the cost.
